PCgame Condemned: criminal original sound problem

anyone has this game on PC?

I install it and everything work fine except I don't have any sound at all...

I tried re-installing the game but Is till get the same issue. I tried uninstalling the cccp codec pack (the only one I use) to see if it could be the problem but no it's not...

I install the latest driver for audio and still nothing...

anyone know anything about this issue? or where could I get any information?

(I tried searching the sega website but apparently they don't have any support for this game >.>)

here's my spec:

Athlon 64 X2 dual core 4200+
2g ram
Nvidia GeForce 7900GT/GTO 256mb

According to a couple readme files, the only possible reason for sound failing to work is a codec conflict. You can try to install the audio codec that the game uses:

Quote:

2. From your main installation folder (the default is
C:\Program Files\Monolith Productions\Condemned: Criminal Origins Demo),
double-click on the file named WMFADist.exe, and then follow the
on-screen instructions. This will manually install the audio codec that
is required by the game.
Otherwise, check device manager (Sound, video and game controllers->Audio Codecs [right click->properties]->properties tab) and try removing random codecs, I suppose. You can always reinstall a codec if necessary; it is unlikely that removing the incorrect codec will cause any major issues.

Unfortunately, there does not seem to be much information on this problem.

yeah i tried that and no luck,, and I just check and I have the same problem with FEAR so it most likely a codec problem....
