Buried, Cremated, or...?
How do you want to be memorialized when you kick the bucket? My gut instinct tells me to get cremated, but afterwards I would have my remains turned into gems so my loved ones could wear me. I forget what the process is called, but it definitely peaked my interest.
It's inevitable, so might as well start planning ahead! What about you guys? |
This "or..." has me intrigued.
I'll have to think of something. Right now i'm thinking buried at sea, but it's gotta be more creative. In all seriousness, i think i'll go with just traditional being buried. |
Cremated, but not before donating my organs. If by my death I can save a life I would gladly do so. As for the ashes, I'll let my relatives decide what to do when the time comes.
As for music to be played during my service, I'm still working on that. Though I've heard of a fellow who had Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life played at his service and had all the guests whistling along as a result:D |
cremated then have my ashes sent into space.
|
There's only so much land on the planet, so eventually there won't be any room left to bury people, so the best course of action is to get cremated. As for my organs, it really doesn't matter to me, since I won't be alive anyway to care.
|
I wanted to be cremated and have my ashed mixed in with paper pulp and turned into a book for people to sign and draw in... and write whatever at the service.
But... the wife seems to have other ideas for what she wants done with me. It seems I am going to be stuffed/mummified and have my sarcophagus become a coffee table or something like that. My wife seriously disturbs me some times... then again... I do the same thing to her... ^_^ |
Organs donated (FOR SCIENCE~!), body cremated. Ideally no church services of any sort, but I guess it won't really matter to me at that point.
|
Cremated. But before that process transpires, I'd donate any organs that sick people need. There's no need to keep your body in "mint" condition after death, IMO.
As for the "Other" choice, my imagination is drawing a blank right now. What could fall under that category? Anything besides being buried or cremated? If so, then I'm sure there are many possibilities. |
Cremation would be the best, but there's always the nagging doubt that the afterlife will somehow be contained in my decomposing brain and that I could ironically deprive myself of heaven by doing the humble, economic thing.
|
I'd have myself cremated and then my ashes sent to the stars. Either that or have myself stuffed and then sent via Fed Ex to a certain person I know with the message "I watch you from the grave" hung around my neck.
Funeral song being "See you later Alligator". What else could it be? |

I rather be cremated and have a small memorial than be buried and have my family go through all this stuff to get me a headstone and a spot in a graveyard.
|
Really, I don't care, but my personal preferance would have to be:
Huge, gigantic mausoleum that rivals that of Halicarnassos, so that no one will ever deny that I existed. Later to be converted into a branch of the Library of Congress. The only sad thing is: I need money and I have to start on it SOON while I'm still alive, because I swear that my ingrate unborn children will refuse to do shit for me and............. well, they're not in my will as of yet. |
oh man i dont know. a nice quiet burial would be cool. but my ashes under bobos house might be col too
|
Buried, probably although the gemstone idea is cool, too. I can picture the first date with one of my great-granddaughters.
"Oh, that's a cool ring. What is it?" "Oh, it's just the modified remains of my great-grandfather. Sometimes when it catches the light just right I feel like I can summon his spirit from beyond the grave." "O_O" |
I'd like to be stuffed and have my butt turned into a pencil sharpener.
Or perhaps just buried in the backyard rolled up in saran wrap. |
if i was your father id sign that deal up Gray
man, cheap ass costs for your burial |
I want to become one with nature.
One vote for: Buried |
I go for cremation, and then have them take me up to the moon/mars and get them to spread my ashes out there.
|
I voted cremated, but as of right now, I'm still not entirely sure. I think cremation would be better, but I've always liked having a grave to see and talk to when a close relative died (yes, I talked with my grandfather's grave, got a problem? ;) ). As long as there's some proof to my relatives that I was there, and am still there in some form, I'd be alright with it... sitting in an urn for eternity is kinda scary though.
|
I already know that I want to be cremated and have my ashes shipped to the motherland to be spread on my grandfather's land.
|
Right now I'm going to go with traditional burial, but if I ever become famous, I'm probably going to go with cremation so some morons don't dig me up, and try to ransom my body back (I heard it's happened with some celebrities already, but don't know any off the top of my head).
Or if the future has advanced enough, send my body into deep space (I'd imagine this will be what a lot of people will choose once space travel becomes common), along with some records of my life so any aliens (or people if they rediscover my body) can see what my life was like :D |
So many people have said 'Other'... I kinda wanna know what 'other' is to them! Lol! ^_^
|
Well, since I won't need my physical body after I pass away... who cares? There's no need for this peace of meat in the afterlife so...
Now seriously. I would like to get my body cremated AFTER my organs have been donated for people who need them to stay alive. And the ashes... I would like them to be thrown in the waters of Copacabana beach. |
I won't care, but I prefer cremated I guess since I wouldn't occupy space on earth uselessly. I'd just want to make sure that I was certainly dead before being disposed. I don't like the idea of premature burial or cremation (too much ideas that sound like they come out of a soap opera!) so I'd just want that one detail attended to before worrying about anything else. I also like the idea of leaving no remaining physical trace of myself in the world for some reason.
Of course, I don't see the point in not donating organs so I would have that done, especially to help others in whatever way they will be used. |
