LAN Games !

I wanted to ask you guys about fun LAN games that aren't too bulky.
PLUS do not require too much PC horsepower

See my brother just got his old pc out , it's a PIII with an 800 MHZ processor and 128 RAM, with a cute lil RIVA TNT2 64 Edition, (32 megs VRAM) , We play quake 3 and Unreal Tourney no problems.

So what want is : MOAR .. More Lan games that'd be fun for a quick matchup like an hour or so long. RTS's are a no-no , he's not that hardcore gaming wise. FPS's with wacky stuff, racing games and other rivalry games would be awesome .

Oh also, any game like/in the style of Gunbound, Worms, etc would be sweet , i just grabbed WWP from Roph's thread.

Suggest away !

Fun game to play on LAN, though the computers are kind of stupid. It's a CTF game where you throw geometric shapes and stuff at eachother.

You really can't go wrong with Serious Sam 2nd Encounter. The final level at hardest difficulty, with extra monsters selected is undefeated in multiplayer fun. Constant, unrelenting wave after wave of monsters.

I suppose you could also try one of the Trackmania games for LAN fun.

Red Faction 1 is our alltime favorite LAN game. Geomod destruction = infinite win! If you don't have it, GET IT!

Also a potential has been Jedi Knight 2, full of force grip and push goodness 'til Ewoks ooze out your eyes (no Ewoks were harmed in the production of the game)

Thanks you guys, i'll check on those,

Anyone know if Jedi knight 2 will work on the above mentioned rig?

I once ran Jedi Knight 2 on a P3 700Mhz with 64MB of RAM and a 16MB integrated video "card," and it ran fine... albeit it was pretty ugly. (I don't think I noticed at the time.)

Nothing beats defense maps in Warcraft III. Or defense maps in starcraft. Or DOTA, or hero line wars in Warcraft III. Espiecally if you go all out and get like 8+ people.
