I think I may have a virus, or really bad spyware

All right, My computer is doing really bad right npw, and I think it may be because of a virus.

First off, there are sevral programs that won't open, Including Micrsoft Word, and a couple of older games I own. Many other progreams wont open as well

Second, and the most important, is an internet problem. Now, I know it's not because of a firewall, because I have turned it off, and even checked ports. It seems there are only two programs that can read my internet connection. One being Mozilla, which I'm using now, and the other being AIM. Any other program (MSN messanger, IE, AOL, ACEftp, MIRC, and some others) Will not connect. Does anyone know why these things may be happening? It's been doing this for about a month now.

Have you bothered to run some virus scans on that thing?
Here are a few things that you can do to check:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
They have an online virus scanner, which scans directly over the internet.

There is also AVG, which is a good free AV:

You can also attempt a trial version of nod32, which many people swear by:
http://www.nod32.com/home/home.htm

A few other people might recommend Kaspersky Lab's anti-virus trial as well, although I have never tested it:

Thanks, I used Norton Anti-Virus, but we all know how unreliable that can be.

I'll try these ones and see what happeneds.

NO! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

NEVER turn off your firewall! EVER!

If you didn't have something before, you DEFINITELY will now. I just pray that you didn't turn off Norton as well, because then you'd be doubly fucked.

As for what to do about it, I suggest that you run CCleaner and Ewido Anti-Malware in safe mode. You know how to get in there, right?

If not, just restart and mash F8 as the computer's booting up.

HA! I STOLE THE ULTIMATE COMBO OF DEATH! EAT IT, SUCKER!
