Media Player good for reading .srt Subtitle Files
Just as the title applies. VLC doesnt support the subtitles. I tried using BSplayer and that didn't work out well either. On top of that, because I'm using Windows Vista, Combined Community Codec Pack is unsupported. Any suggestions?
Thanks |
VLC supports *.srt subs just fine, though depending on your settings, it might not load them by default. Try right-clicking on the picture and see if you can select a subtitle track.

Still not there unfortunately. If you are able to provide a desktop screenshot of what I should click and see that would be very thankful. I'm a little bummed that CCCP doesnt work because it was definitely my preferred choice...;_;

Perhaps there's something wrong with the file, then. Can you open it alright in Notepad?

The .srt file is fine. It looks just as any other .srt file. In the past, I have had trouble getting VLC to recognize .srt files. It seems to read them better when the subtitles are built into the file. Is there any setting that allows .avi to read the .srt with VLC?
Double Post: Problem solved. A new version of CCCP was released 5 days ago that is compatable with Windows Vista. Thanks for the advice guys. |
