Streets of Rage 4?

I hope I put this in the best suited forum section but anyway for some of the members here this will be old news, but for everyone else...

Streets of Rage remake ver 4.01a (beta full version release!)

I remeber seeing this fan project for the first time about a year ago and thinking it will be some crappy version made with the 'beats of rage' engine and/or they'll give up once they've done a halfassed job. Fast forward to now and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to this:

Spoiler:

Last I checked there's a playable demo download with the final freeware edition being released on the 31st to go with the orginal series 15th aniversary, apart from hosting problems they're going through right now, I personally can't find anything to fault here until I see the final thing. imo it's looking like the streets of rage game people have been begging SEGA for years to make :o_O:

I also remember seeing this some time ago and had totally forgotten about it. I'm not on a computer where I can try to download and play this and the main site is in Spanish so I can't read it.

This appears to be a Windows based game. Is that correct or can it be played in Gens? Also is there an instruction booklet for new moves and such?

Actually it doesnt need an Emulator, it runs on Windows.

I can translate the main page text:
Spoiler:

Street of Rage Remake

It's an homage of the entire Streets of Rage Saga.

In order to reproduce the game, we have ripped the original sprites and enhanced them. We have also added original enemies and characters with the same art style.

The different scenes/stages (some new and some old) have been completely remodeled and include new effects, more colors and scrolling planes.

The music has been remixed with better samples by musicians.

The gameplay is similar and was created from scratch, designed to match the style of the different characters.

Final Version Notes:
8 Characters, 2 hidden
43 Phases with alternate paths
52 types of enemies with different attacks
34 Remixed songs
New options and modes not present in the Original.

Programmed in Fenix
Version Beta 3.60
Size: 12.9 MB
Distribution: Freeware

System Requirements

Operating System: Windows 9x, 2000, XP
Processor: Pentium or AMD 800 mhz
RAM: 120 MB
Graphics Card: You dont need to buy a new one!!
Sound: Windows compatible soundcards
Joystick supported

*Doh i just noticed the translation button on the site (the UK flag). Oh well..

I was planning to bump this thread on the day it was released, since mirrors would be popping up all over the net and it would be far easier to link people to downloads then, but I guess I won't need to as much now.

Edit: Could an admin please change the title to "Streets of Rage 4?" for some reason I thought at the time people would be just as able to recognise it by SOR :eagletear:

Edit2: The games almost complete but not quite (missing a 4th ending, as well as some enemy moves, possible story cutscenes and overrall fine tuning the game)
