Veronica Mars

So who here watches Veronica Mars?

I'm glad I started watching it. I mean Stephen King, Joss Whedon, and Kevin Smith have all endorsed the show. Joss Whedon and Kevin Smith even made guest apperances on the show.

I caught part of an episode once when it was airing on CBS for a few weeks over the summer, and the show did intrigue me. I have been meaning to get the show on DVD, but I haven't got around to it yet. If they come out with a season 2 set before season 3 airs, I might get both sets and then start watching it as it airs.

People keep telling me to watch this, its a great show. I think if enough people tell me, Ill break down and buy the first season on DVD. It cant be that bad right? Plus...Kristen Bell is hot.

Cyantre Mar 12, 2006 12:37 AM

Do what I did, download the first season from some torrent. Then watch the show, and if you like then buy the box set to show your support. Actually I just bought it after I downloaded it because it became one of my favorite shows and I wanted to have. Much the same way I went about Firefly. Download > watch > love > buy.

The show's pretty good. I noticed some similarities about the general way the girl looked and acted, her whole 'persona', with Chole or whatever her name was from Smallville. The blond-haired girl who said she was cool with just being Clark's friend. That same comparison is up on her Wikipedia entry, so I guess I'm not the only one to see similarities.

The downside is that I haven't seen many episodes lately... I'll have to keep a look out.

Grundlefield Earth Mar 12, 2006 02:54 AM

Yeah I heard the show basically just copied a lot of Chloe Sullivan. However, regardless I heard it was decent although i haven't seen it.

My roommate's really into it, and we enjoy all the same shows: the 24, the Lost, the Scrubs, the Battlestar Galactica, the list goes on... As for Veronica Mars, he's kept up with this series while I have yet to begin. I will begin soon though, and I can easily expect I'll like it.

I'm glad you mentioned this because while I was watching the show I though the similarities were huge.
And the show is very good and the first season ending was really surprising.

For a show on UPN, this is pretty decent. I've watched most of the first season with my sister (who actually met the cast in San Francisco, at the Metreon). I wish I went with her, actually, since Kristen Bell is all kinds of hot. I think that's the one reason why I occassionally sit down to watch it.

Cyantre Mar 13, 2006 02:19 AM

I was surprised to find such a great show on UPN as well, most people confuse it as being on the WB.

Veronica is awesome. The girl's clothing budget probably exceeds the GDP of Kiribati; I haven't finished the first season yet, and I've counted thirty-nine different outfits so far.

I don't watch nearly as much TV as I did last year (probably as there are fewer quality shows on in Australia), but I have watched a few episodes of this and I really liked it. Unfortunately, due to Channel 10's fucking brilliant schedule changes they never tell people about - and subsquent pulling of the show from air once the ratings season came back - I only saw a handful and no more. But I'll definitely buy the first season on DVD, I much prefer watching series that way. I discovered and watched the first three seasons of Alias that way too, and I'm planning on doing the same for Lost.

I watch this show on UPN and the story is getting interesting.

You heard wrong.

But yeah, one of the best shows on TV, probably THE best.

Veronica Mars

This show is great. I have been getting the DVD's from Netflix, and when I throw one in I have to keep watching until it's done.

I haven't seen more than a few episodes of Smallville, so I don't know how it compares, as others have mentioned above, but Mars has a really well written script, with an engrossing plot, deep, multifaceted characters, and enough snappy dialogue to keep Joss Whedon fans happy.

The more I watch, too, the more I realize Veronica (the character, not Kristen Bell) may just be the perfect woman - although I wouldn't ever want to piss her off.

zomg season 2 finale next week.

The last episode was really intense. Who else is keeping up? ;_;

Alucard May 8, 2006 05:45 PM

Decoy I've been keeping up myself. I really wanna know who's behind everything. I haven't a clue, and I'm not even going to guess, as I was blown away by Season 1's finale (which may not even be the case after seeing last weeks episode? ahhhhh!) I can't wait!

Agreeing with you here. I've been watching it since probably midway through the first season when my roommate told me about it and have been hooked ever since. For all those unsure as to whether or not to watch it... just do youself a favor and watch it. :) Season 2 is nearly over, which will give you a good chance to catch up with season 1 and season 2...then...hopefully we get a season 3.

Here is a petition to get the creators to make a 3rd season since it is not guarenteed to happen at the moment:
