"There's no need to fear. Underdog is here."

Thank you Disney.

Thank you for raping my childhood. :(

Oh Christ.

Who wants to bet there'll be some faggoty rap remix of the theme song?

Ayre Dec 14, 2006 01:25 PM

No... NO... NOOOO!!!!!

Metal Sphere Dec 14, 2006 01:43 PM

Damn, and here I was thinking it would at least be animated. Who's next? Huckleberry Hound? Topcat? Quickdraw McGraw?

It's Peabody's Improbable History.

They just should have pulled a "Rocky & Bullwinkle" and did CGI. A real dog doesn't work for him, it worked for Odie cause Odie acts for the most part like a real dog in the Garfeid comics.

....

Damn, they've even got ole Peabody. I loved watching those. I agree that they could've at least done CGI for Underdog. They'd at least be able to keep his old look and keep the cartoonish antics intact.

dagget Dec 14, 2006 05:53 PM

gahaha. OLD NEWS :p Actually I thought Underdog and Sherman and Peabody had both been scrapped since I haven't seen anything on them in a couple years. Makes me sad that Underdog is like that though. :( I guess Tennessee Tuxedo will have a rednecked up "GIT R DUN!" type penguin. :(

Freelance Dec 14, 2006 05:57 PM

The movie Underdog looks nothing like the cartoon Underdog. What?? I don't like how cartoons are being turned into live-action movies. Like geez, what's so wrong about making an animated version instead??

el jacko Dec 14, 2006 06:03 PM

Just a thought - what is that dog standing on? He appears to be higher than the Empire State Building, when it is the tallest building on the east coast. There is no building even remotely similar in height in the city, and the closest is the Chrystler Building (which is also in the poster). What is that dog standing on?

Either way, this will probably childish pap. A shame, since Underdog was cool at a time.

EDIT: Augh, the more I look at the geography of that poster the more frustrated I become. Fuck this movie.

K_ Takahashi Dec 15, 2006 12:39 AM

how is he suppossed to shine shoes?

I would prefer a whole CGI film ala something released by the Wienstien company or something.

Superman meets Air Bud....yippie :(

:psyduck:

It'll probably turn out to be something like Cats & Dogs, but I would also would have loved a pure CG film. Maybe that's what they're building up with Sherman and Peabody, at the very least have it done like Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Balcony Heckler Dec 15, 2006 08:02 AM

yep, another famous childhood cartoon now decimated by today's sad filmmaking attempts

Sir VG Dec 15, 2006 08:22 AM

Somebody needs to go burn down Hollywood. NOW.

;_;

What's with people wanting a total CGI movie? I miss the days when classical animation was king. They will always win over CGI in my book :(

No. Hard Pass. Dec 15, 2006 09:53 AM

This just proves that they are running out of ideas.

Bradylama Dec 15, 2006 12:29 PM

Underdog loses its appeal with the camp. Same with Peabody and Sherman.

KCJ506 Dec 15, 2006 01:46 PM

You know... with Dudley Do-Right, Rocky & Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle, Underdog, and now they're talking about a Peabody and Sherman movie...you gotta think Superchicken and Tom Slick are next....
