[SOLVED] Request RE: Journal Buddies
 

Hey dudes.

I have a question. Would it be at all possible if there was a way to list your buddies at the bottom of the main chocojounral page in a more uniform manner? As it stands now, it seems to be arbitrary in listing (no alphabetical ;_; ) and the commas separating each are kind of clumsy, in my opinion.

Does anyone else use this feature as much as I do? (I use it a LOT) Does anyone else think it's a little discombobulated?

I'd love to see them listed alphabetically, too.

I would love them sorted alphabetically.
But for the future, it'd be kinda cool if the names could be sorted via user edited groups.

It used to sort itself out whenever you updated your buddy list in the User CP, but that doesn't work anymore. :(

Yeah, having some sort of sortability would be nice, be it alphabetical or somehow user-defined. Now I just need to get me s'more buddies, or it's a moot point for me. :(

Like face said, it used to sort itself when you clicked the update buddy list button, but doesn't do that now.


I guess a roundabout way would be to copypaste the list (it's sorted alphabetically in the edit screen) somewhere for safekeeping, remove all buddies, then paste the list back and update, and they should get added in the alphabetical order.

And do that again each time you add a new buddy!

I'm not the one having issues with it. I like having them like this, last time they got sorted by accident and I couldn't find any of the names for ages.

But as Yama pointed out, they really are sorted by number, as opposed to which order you add.

Buddy list is now sorted alphabetically.

Thanks for pointing this out, I discovered that bobo was doing a query for each buddy instead of just retrieving all the buddy information in one go, so now the code should be much more efficient.

Plus, trailing comma has been removed ~

Also, my comments graph is messed up (see 4th most frequent commentor).

I just noticed that too... was going to flip through my small list of buddies only to be redirected to the CJ page.

Bear with that for a while, I'm backing up the database before I rebuild the journal table indexes.

Also, the "Most Recent Buddy Entries" page doesn't reflect the change. Is there any way we could get them in alphabetical order too? (I assumed it would be if the list on the first page was changed, but I guess not).

The replies link on the journal front page should list the last 50 entries.
