Well the main characters look very nice but the enemies (slimes and knights) look way too shiny. Apparantly the Wii can only do textures for main characters and backgrounds. I've seen the game in motion though and it looks pretty interesting. It's basically on rails and you slash at enemies, block their attacks, and do special attacks with the Wii controller. You can interact with the environment too.

This looks really good actually.

That looks great. Go Wii!
|
Kinda looking forward to seeing what this is gonna be :D Wii sword FTW.
|
looks neat, the gfx look a step up from most of the recent wii games and thats a good thing, I really hope they add more exploration to the game and some more varied battle mechanics to keep it interesting, maybe strafing around targets if not free motion, and combos etc... Still, it looks very promising. I hope it turns out good.

I think i could live with that, although i would like it better if it were a true RPG. |
Looks better than I originally thought.

Now you see, I like how that looks and plays. I, like just about everyone else, was disappointed with the decision to keep it on rails (like its predecessor), but I'm relieved to see that there's at least some control.
Now they just need to show what the hell towns do. If I'm free to move from fields to towns and can acually do stuff in them, this is a must-buy for me. |
Looks generic to me. Setia looks like a slut.

don't most supporting cast girls in an RPG?
just think back to the last 3 Final Fantasy games. I think the art style is pretty good, it looks like a dragon quest, which sort of explains the somewhat bland enemies |
Hmm, looks fun and interesting!
I would like to see how Free you are to roam around. |
Yea, I hope the world maps and the towns are at least free, if they decide to subscribe to the on rails dungeons.
A cool thing they could do is give you options to travel forks in the the road during the dungeon sequences. This would give replay value and a little extra exploration time. |

Lookin' pretty awesome. I'm liking the art style and the use of the Wii Remote. Unless I'm mistaken, in this video, the Wii Remote is a shield and/or sword? I've just started playing Dragon Quest (VIII), so I'm intrigued by this. I'll probably get it, assuming it comes to PAL territories.
Regarding the official site for the game, I think the "SWORDS" musical effect is a nice touch. As for the new trailer, first thing that came to find was Kouichi Sugiyama's awesome music, which seems pretty strong as usual. The same goes for the graphics, however I think I prefer Dragon Quest VIII's cell-shaded style. (I'm a sucker for cell-shaded graphics) |
