- Battle screenshots released for the first time
- Movement sceness and battle scenes take place on the same screens seamlessly

- You move characters with the touchpen
- Characters fight based on preset conditions automatically (GAMBIT BITCHES!)
- The concept is "showcasing a large cast of characters"
- Battles resemble Seiken DS
- Characters are small so combat can look confusing
- Summon beasts and big monsters like Ring Wyrms are 2-3 times the size of player characters
- You can flank monsters by simply sliding the touchpen

Wow, looks beautiful. The battle screens totally give off a FFT atmosphere.

Um when is the release date?

Very purty, just like the PS2 game. Does this game have the same storyline?
I like how the Espers and enemies are the same as its console cousin. The sprites are sure cute.

For some reason, the game reminds me of Ragnarok Online, but probably better.

It looks like it might be pretty fun. I see that there are winged folks in the game. The red-haired one on the second screen made me think of a young Canopus or something.

This game better be on my EB games. Maybe this time I will be able to buy it without going through such a hassle since my Walmart is gay. (takes like what? a week for them to get it? fuck that.)

It takes place right after the end of FFXII if I recall correctly.



And yeah I really like the winged redhead :D Makes sense that there'd be winged people living near Bhujerba...

Seriously though, it looks quite good. I hate the PS2 one, but if this is portable friendly, I'll defenitly give it a shot.

@ manny...I might agree with you, I'm not sure. But the DS is capable of much more than what SE is putting into it, and I feel kind of let down after the phenomenal FFIII.

But I like the style, it reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Those graphics sure do look nice, some of the best I've seen on the DS. A shame I can't look into this game too much, seeing as I haven't played Final Fantasy XII. Spoilers=bad.

So, because there are gambits, I am to assume that gameplay is similar to FFXII? I was hoping for a more Tactics-style gameplay, which would go along quite well with a Tactics-style artwork.

I have to admit, though: the game really is beautiful, and it makes me feel a lot better that Square Enix (or at least part of it) recognizes that not every game has to be photo-realistic.

I'm definately looking forward to this. :D I haven't even gotten that far in FFXII, but this game looks cute. I also remember reading somewhere that Balthier and Fran would be playable as well.

Looks like fun. The chibi works on the DS. Hope they release it here.
