alternate way to load music/videos onto the ipod

I am looking for a way to 'drag and drop' files onto the ipod without using itunes. I don't want to use rockbox, because it replaces the ipod operating system and also reduces running time.

According to Arainach, one can use J.River Media Center 11 to load music onto the ipod. But J.River is not free! Are there any free copies?

:)

Double Post:
How long does it take to load 80gb of audio onto a ipod using J River?

As long as it would take using iTunes?

An alternative that I've used in the past (and started using again, because iTunes can be a douche) is YamiPod. It's free, it doesn't require installation of any kind (just extract from the .zip and run the program wherever it is) and it's not all that difficult to use.

Just keep in mind, that whatever you use besides iTunes isn't guaranteed to work without a hitch, though that doesn't mean it will.
Hell, iTunes itself is far from perfect. XD
