It's very entertaining. If TV ever made games a sport like soccer and tennis, Speed Runs should really be a part of it.

That was pretty sick, especially the pixel-perfect jumps over the pipe monsters.

I'm pretty good on keyboard (until the 8- worlds parts come up, cant really do the long jumps unless Im using a controller). Other than that I could do a speed-run worthy finish.

Its too bad the only thing that would be close to that in the states would most likely be boradcasted on (of all things) G4, its too bad we dont take games seriously unlike the Koreans.

I hear that in Korea, they have some sort of channel purely for StarCraft. Now that's just lame.

Yeah, the fact that an audience was there made this video infinitely cooler. I mean, they're even cheering "Go Mario!" and stuff like that, like this is really serious and shit. Hilarious! And we can't forget the awesome soundtrack in the background!

Playing a video game speedrun can only be amplified by playing Danger Zone from Top Gun (which has its own video game).

Which someone should do a speed run of!

That video was just cool as hell. Nintendo should have created a remake of this game with a race feature like Sega did for Sonic.

Heh. Impressive, but that one's not even "real". Real dudes in real costumes played the real games in front of a real audience in the SMB1 one. Which is also crazy, but that's besides the point.

I also agree that the crowd cheering with "Danger Zone" in the background was the best part of the whole thing. =P

It's a TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) stolen from Bisqwit's site. So first off, it's not even the author's work. And second, it's emulated, not a real console based performance.

It happens often enough around me. Got similar ridiculousness when some friends and I were racing through classic games like that as well. Not as intense as the Koreans though, but it was fun, especially when the crowd is pure energy.
