Computer BSODs on startup
k, so today in class I decided to reboot my laptop. Went through the XP start menu, hit restart, waited and it hung for a while. I'm well aware that I shouldn't do this, but it does happen often, so I held down the power button for a hard shutdown. Now, whenever I turn on my computer, after the bootscreen it gives me the standard XP "computer turned off blah blah safe mode/last good config?" message. Whenever I hit last good config, the XP loading screen (progress bar and all) comes up normally, and starts to boot... But maybe ten seconds in, for a TINY fraction of a second, I get what seems to be a bsod - Then the computer reboots. This also happens when I attempt to boot into xp normally, and when I try any of the safe mode options it loads all the drivers etc then does the same thing.
Now, I'm running a ubuntu live cd on the machine right now, and I can't seem to access my hard drive... What should I do? The computer is a Sony Vaio PCG-TR5MP. Double Post: Also, I don't have an XP Pro disc anywhere. And the bluescreen only lasts for a very small amount of time, so I can't read what's on it. Double Post: lol also I just fixed it myself by running a disk check off a cd. :( |
