VPN servers

I'm new to this VPN.
Is there a site where I can get a list over available VPN servers that I can use to connect to?

(sorry if this is a dumb question)

I'm thinking it maybe is a dumb question, you're asking for people's networks that you can join? I thought the whole point of it was that it was private.

If you're wanting to VPN with a friend for something (play a LAN game over the internet for example) then Hamachi is a great (and easy) little tool.

Isn't VPN server used for anonymus surfing...?
Are there any other methods to hide my IP besides using a VPN client and connecting to a VPN server?

You could always use a simple web proxy. Or if you want to go a little more advanced, Tor.

If you really want enhanced privacy (and security) you'll have to use TOR. But even TOR isn't completly secure - and it won't protect you if the user isn't cautious.
