Pump up Song?
Im am currently in training and I was wondering what music the gamingforce community used to pump up before and during games, running, and lifting.
|
|
Some of mine:
Eye of the Tiger Step it up-Throwdown Halo-Soil Fight-Mariliyn Manson Going the Distance-Cake Whoop Your Head Boy-Fiddy Cent Thats all I can think of right now. |
Fiddy-Cent shouldn't be allowed for anything except as a theme to be used when wiping one's ass.

Any Slayer album will get you worked up :p
I listen to Lamb of god, Slayer, Machine head, Metallica on shuffle to get me nice and pumped. |
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk.
No seriously, it works. I listen to it sometimes while lifting. Mainly to give me a motivation boost when I'm tiring. |
Walk by Pantera
Just listening to that song makes you wanna hit somebody. |

I love singing along to that song. If I actually worked out I'd probably put on Judas Priest - Painkiller (the entire album) some Iron Maiden, Megadeth, older In Flames, Shadows Fall, and some others. |
When ever I watch a movie and something awesome happens I listen to that song to get me pumped up. You know, it's like when you watch Rocky and hear "hearts on fire" then you're like, "AHHHHH!!!! I'm gonna be buffed up like Rocky and punch the crap out of someone!!!"
My favorite to use is Superman theme. It really boosts my confidence and moral. When I listen to that song I don't even care if I lose a game badly. |
Anything with a strong beat and a fast pace usually works for me. When I used to cycle, my favourite was the whole of Metallica's Ride the Lightning CD, and I still use old Slipknot when I'm exercising. It's angry, vigorous and good for keeping me going. Specifically off the first album, when he yells "pick up the pace!" it sort of pushes me to try harder. As the above posts have mentioned, Slayer is also a good choice.

Through the Fire and Flames by Dragonforce is my favorite pump song. I understand thats its kinda cheezy speed metal but something about it get me pretty stoked every time I hear it.
Also Around the world by Daft Punk. Pretty staple pump song in these parts, but hey, its got fat bass beats. |
DMX - Party Up

I agree with you there. I listen to Daft Punk all the time while working out. I also listen to a lot of Progressive Rock and Progressive House/Trance music as well. |
Shellac - My Black Ass. Guaranteed to increase your max bench by 20lbs upon first listen.
|
God I don't know why I'm posting but the first song I thought about was Pump It by Black Eyed Peas.
Commence tomato throwing. Hey, it worked out well for me running on threadmills last year. |
Rob Dougan - Furious Angels (both lyrical and instrumental), Chateau, Clubbed to Death (also CTD2 cream remix).
Bionic Jive - Pump, Ricochet, I Shot Lucifer, Rock On, Walking With Shadows, Swarm I'd say just get the album 'Armeggedon Through Your Speakers' perfect for workouts :edgarrock: |
push it - garbage
closer - NiN mokey wrench - foo fighters |

I honestly didn't like the Deadly sinners song I just listened to it. But if it works for you all the more to ya.
|
listen to bionic jive ;)
|
oh my, that would totally depend on what you are into.
the opening theme to the anime 'Dragon Drive' really pump me up, makes want to run really fast and fly if i could. |
|
Rap is hands down the worst type of music for one to use to get themselves psyched and pumped up before working out or a sports game.
Loud, agressive music like metal works the best IMO. |
