Foods that you share with your pets
 

I am sure that anyone with a cat or a dog knows the feeling of being watched when they eat at the table.

Do any of you share your meals with your pets?

I had a cat named Chip and he loved froot loops, my brother would make a small bowl for him. All of my rats today love froot loops and spagettie strings.

My Cat Cuddles had many tastes, he liked patato chips, but his fave flavor was kectup. He would bug my mom whenever she had ice cream with blueberries and had to get him his own bowl of the stuff, and he also loved pizza, but not just any pizza, it had to be either the frozen mini pizzas or my homemade one. My mom and I had a bake off to see which on the cat like the best. He ate mine ^_^

My rats loved bacon so whenever we ordered from Pizza Pizza, and I always get bacon bits on my pizza, I'd give the ones that fell off the slice to the rats. They loved them. Things like that, the last crouton in the salad, the last carrot piece in the bowl, small things.

Ive never had a house pet, but a friend of mine used to eat chips with his guinea pig. He said it would eat everything he wasnt supposed to.

Our old dog used to follow me round whenever I had any food. I would always give him crisps and scraps of meat, and no matter how much I gave him, he always came back for more.

One of my buddie's dogs is always snooping around to lick some greasy plate or greasy wrapper, or some plate or glass that is coated in something tasty. It's a pretty small dog, a breed of a poddle and something else. So it's always jumping on tables and shit snooping around for various tastes, as my buddies basement tends to be cluttered with dishes most of the time. If it's one thing the dog probably loves most is the greasy wrappers from fast food, so I made up this running gag for the dog where I say, "Ginger want some BK?" lol.

We have a cockatiel at home. We give her Honey Nut Cheerios as treats, and anytime we make chicken, broccoli or spaghetti we have to give her some. She screeches if we don't.

I never give the cats human food. I occasionally tell them that it's my {insert food here}. but they keep staring. Not that I expect them to listen, really.

The dogs get the scraps sometimes, largely because they don't get as much food usually.

My dog is terrible for this. He adores absolutely anything that you're eating, simply because it's not meant for him. I'm sure he gets some sort of satisfaction from eating the "forbidden fruit". He will eat all kinds of meat, cheese, bread, some salad, sauces that are carelessly dripped on the floor for whatever reason, pasta... If I don't feel like finishing my dinner he gets the left-overs.

I remember one time my cousin's dog waited for just the right moment; jumped up, grabbed my aunt's cheese and onion sandwich and disappeared off behind the sofa with it, devouring the whole thing.

I had a cat that loved sour cream. I've also noticed that every cat I've had FREAKS OUT when you get corn on the cob. They go crazy for the husks.

I'll feed my dog anything as long as it isn't chocolate. Although most of the time, if it's really good, I won't give him any since I'm selfishly want to eat it myself.

He doesn't like fish though, I tried to feed him sashimi once and he ditched a $4 piece of fish in the corner of my bedroom.

I used to give food to my Grandmother's dog. His name was Eb and was always catered too. As a result, he used to watch us eat and then end up being fed. My uncle loved feeding him the left over chicken bones, skin, beef, etc., It was fun because Eb would jump into the air and grab it.

Great entertainment.

My cats go apeshit any time a can of tuna is opened in my house. They all come running, jump onto the counter that the can is on (even though they don't do it any other time), and do anything within their power to get to the tuna, so we always give them each a chunk when we're making tuna salad. It's really funny because once you give them their pieces, they'll growl at you if you come near them while they're eating it. It's like it brings out the beast in them or something.

The only other things that I share with my cats are Doritos (they all love them for some weird reason), ice cream, and bread with mayo on it. My parents give them chunks of meat from their plates sometimes, too, though they're more likely to give a few scraps off of their plates to the dogs instead.

I heard from a friend of mine the other day that she's got a cousin whose house she refuses to eat at. When they make dinner and finish loading up on whatever it is they've made to eat, they leave the pot full of food on the stove and let their cat eat out of it. Then they put it in the fridge and eat it for leftovers the next day. I love my animals and all, but that's just gross.

My dog eats everything we eat, and whines indefinitely until she gets some of it. The only time she eats her own food is just before going for a walk, and even then not that frequently.

Just a general warning to watch out when it comes to the food that you give your pets. Some stuff that is perfectly fine for human consumption can be toxic to pets.

I'd hate for you to be going "Well here Spot, have a treat" and then five minutes later "OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
