Foods you never grow out of.

I made this thread a while before the crash and so I thought I'd give it another go.

What foods have you never grown out of? Some foods we ate as kids disgust us now and some we still love...

I love mac'n cheese! Good ol kraft dinner, there isn't a newfoundlander I know of that does not like the stuff, also homemade spagettie and cookies! yum! I want some now!

How about you all?

Angel Oct 31, 2006 10:46 AM

Things I've always loved were rice krispies, homemade waffles, cookies and bread.

Aquas Oct 31, 2006 02:28 PM

Mac 'n Fuckin' cheese. I wonder if there's some addictive chemical in it... ya know like how those commercials used to be so crazy, like you were tripping out in happy fun cheese land going down slides and bursting off of cheese fountains and jumping out of helicopters and such.

Everytime I eat Mac 'n Cheese it's like I'm jumping out of a helicopter.

I've always liked liquorice. I can eat it by the tonne, and I never get sick of it.

Chibi Neko Oct 31, 2006 03:03 PM

My cousin can't stand liquorice, I gross her out when I eat it. ^_^

Soy sauce and rice. Ate that all the time as a kid and I still love it, disgustingly so.

Although now I'm probably a bit more sophisticated and will include cubed ham or chicken into the party. Need that protein.

Grilled Cheese Sandwitches. I loved those when I was little, I even taught myself how to make them when I was 7 because my parents were tired of making them for me. Yes, I realise that grilled cheese isn't exactly complicated in any sense, but I was 7, I was damn proud of myself.

Rachelle Nov 1, 2006 02:49 AM

bread+ peanut butter + cheese :D

The Wise Vivi Nov 1, 2006 06:19 AM

Kraft dinner, oreo cookies, Dutch Chocolate sprinkles on bread, fruit loops, corn pops.... the list goes on and on.

Rice fo' sho'. Every freaking day...

I've had those frozen home-cooked pizzas a few time every week for hella long... since my kindergarten days perhaps to today, graduated college and workin, eatin' my pizzas, generally with fries. There's also the occasional cheeseburger.

There's other easy-to-cook stuff I never get sick of, like those BBQ chicken wings or chicken nuggets.

Macaroni & cheese, of course. :p

I also love meatloaf.

How can you even grow out of food that isn't pablum, breast milk or that pureed Gerber turd?

Kazyl Nov 1, 2006 03:42 PM

Speaking of Gerber, that cereal flakey stuff that you add milk with, similar to oatmeal. Damn good stuff but it never lasts long enough :(

Bernard Black Nov 1, 2006 05:39 PM

I can't think of anything. I never really loved any type of food; I grew into more foods than I grew out of. Oh, except Jaffa Cakes ^_^

Torte Nov 1, 2006 06:27 PM

Chicken. If all that avian-flu stuff actually amounted to a poultry ban... damn, I'd go catch my own chickens lol!

I still love chocolate. From the first day I tasted a Mirage bar when I was just a tiny kid, I loved chocolate ever since.

I can't get sick of chicken and I can't get sick of fries.

Oh yeah, also veggies and a bunch of assorted Korean dishes.

As a kid one of my cousins loved chef boyade ravioli, but now she can't stand the sight of it.

Sword Familiar Nov 2, 2006 07:51 AM

Cheese. There's nothing better. Oh, and pie. Pie with lots of cheese.

Balcony Heckler Nov 2, 2006 08:46 AM

who can't get enough of nachos with loads of cheese

Dryer Nov 20, 2006 11:26 PM

Cereal!

Hot Pink Nov 28, 2006 06:00 AM

i looove chicken ceasor (sp?) wraps! If i go to the gas station to pump, I would sometimes go in there and buy them. and a good combination with sprite.

Erisu Kimu Nov 29, 2006 07:52 AM

^^^ Are those the same as Pitas? If so, I love them too.

Ryuu Nov 29, 2006 11:58 AM

Cereal, Rice, and Ramen.

I've had those three (not at the same time of course...well at least not cereal when having the other two) for as long as I remember, and I can't imagine never having a bowl of cereal, rice, or ramen when I'm older (40s, 50s, etc.).

lia Nov 29, 2006 02:27 PM

Grilled cheese and tomato soup. Those must be eaten together, it's required. Good old-fashioned PB&J. Chocolate chip cookies. Umm... chocolate milk. String cheese. I'm a total junk food nut, I just try and avoid it as much as possible.

Lunar Seal Nov 29, 2006 05:06 PM

Pizza, and fruit. All kinds of fruit.

It's funny because when I was little I HATED vegetables, now my mouth waters at the very sight of them! And my new "adult" favorite of an old favorite is Veggie pizza... which I used to hate when I was little, too.
