Video making software?
I want to make a custom music video using clips from various movies and animes in .avi form and an mp3 file. What's the best software to do this on Windows XP? I'm looking for something that is relatively simple to use. Thanks.

You probably already have it. Windows Movie Maker :p

There isn't some better third party software?
|
As far as easy goes, that's the easiest in my opinion. Yes, it's bundled into Windows and all that, but it DOES have the sort of features you will need to quickly splice together a music video.
On the opposite side of the spectrum is Adobe Premiere, but I doubt it's anything but simple... |
Just another interested individual...
I've been trying to save my Windows Movie Maker files into movie files, but it keeps saying that the files were removed, the save destination doesn't exist and other shitty shit like that. What's going on? Also, what third-party program is as easy and efficient as Windows Movie Maker? |
I'd give Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8 a try. I think it's the best on the market at the moment for what you want to do and it's got a simpler interface than Premiere! ;)

I've seen some slick stuff made with Adobe Premiere Elements. I personally can't stand Adobe stuff after working with Final Cut Apple software, but as far as I can tell, Premiere is about the "best" you can get consumer grade for Windows PCs.
Your other option, would be to use VirtualDubMod to cut up various AVI files and put them together. I believe VDub can do this. Oh and its free. :D You might check at doom9.org --> http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=22 |
Cut had hack, you can do with Virtualdub. But I believe Mucknuggle might also want to do some fancy schmancy transitions, wouldn't you Mucky? :D
I certainly forgot about the easytype version of Adobe Premiere, Adobe Premiere Elements. Maybe you can give it a try. |
