In need of recommendation for PC games
Well, like the title suggest, I need recommendation for games here.... which can run on low computer specs, mine is as follow
750 MB RAM 1.6Ghz Intel Pentium M 725 64 MB Intel Extreme Graohic Card Well, preferably RTS or any of the RPG or adventure games... Any ideas?? |
Pong. Its fun.
In all honesty though, im not quite sure what to recommend to you. Maybe something like Sam and Max: Hit the Road or Day of the Tentacle. What games are you able to run at the moment smoothly and without many issues? Can you run Quake III smoothly? If so that gives us more of a general idea of what your PC is capable of playing. |
Jesus, that is one heck of a computer. ;)
Some of the old might and magic games should work on your machine. They are RPG's and quite enjoyable. Might and Magic 8 was my favourite, it improved over 7 and was a lot better than 9. Also, it should be very cheap now. I think that Empire Earth may be playable on your machine, it's an RTS, and quite fun. Sim City 3000 might be worth a try too. Try here for some decent strategy games, you should also be able to find some RTS games there as well. |
heh nice computer ;)
go here for some fun freeware games www.gamehippo.com |
Try GuildWars, it does not use that much memory and it has very low requirements or you could try Gunbound -.- or MAYBE MapleStory if you are really bored...
|
Get the Fallout Collection. I guarantee you all those games will work for your computer.
|
Space Rangers 2 is a mix of adventure, RPG and RTS and what else.. I think it would work pretty well with your PC and it's a great game. The RTS section of the game requires a DX9 compatible graphics card but it is not necessary to play the RTS minigames if you don't want/cannot.
edit: oh and it has superb music too |
Definitely second on the Space Rangers 2. That game is worth it for the text adventures alone.
|
Starcraft. Age of Empires 1. Good Luck.
|
An absolutely amazing adventure/platformer game that would run perfectly on your system is Cave Story. It also has the advantage of being free :).
http://agtp.romhack.net/doukutsu.html Starcraft is also gets a massive reccomendation from me :). |
I am still having great fun with Heroes of Might and Magic III, so that's what I recommend you.
Short description: It's a turn-based strategy game. You have your town and your heroes, you can build structures, buy creatures, upgrade them, lead them with your heroes against foes. Your heroes can carry artifacts, learn special skills, cast magical spells, visit special adventure map locations and (lol) much more. There are a total of 150 or so creatures to choose from, all having unique characteristics. |

I also recommend the Homeworld games. |
maybe etherlords 2?
Double Post: Etherlords 2 is a turn-based game and you summon monsters and use spells & stuff. |
Seconding Cave Story and Starcraft, they're really good games which I still play today.
Also, there's always the touhou shmups if you're into that sort of thing. |
There's always time for NetHack

But yeah, if you don't have the Fallout games yet get the Fallout Collection first, regardless of what your specs are. :D |
Forgot about Arx Fatalis, that game was surprisingly fun.
|
Civilization I/II/III and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. If you've liked one of those games, you'll like the others. If you haven't, then you'll either love or hate. They're strategy games, but turn-based.

You want to good game try Freespace 2. Still awesome space sim even until this day. Also from what I understand the full version can down be downloaded for free. Just not sure where exactly.

Actually, your system may actually be able to play Civilization IV, my old computer had lower specs than yours and I was able to play Civ IV. Its a more involving game than the older ones.
|
Some of the older RPGs still hold up very well for me despite having played through them many times. Fallout 1&2, Arcanum and Planescape: Torment are all wonderful.
As a matter of fact I'm replaying Planescape: Torment at the moment, and it's just fantastic. Stuff like Oblivion may be pretty, but it can't hold up to the depth of the world in these games if you ask me. I highly recommend them. |
I'll second Civilization IV (I had forgotten about it until The Wise Vivi mentioned it.)
As for being able to run it I found the specs for it and, Quote:
