Website directory thing question
Okay, my current host kind of...makes me have some sort of index page in any directory I have, otherwise nothing will be displayed. However, I don't want this. I want to just have a very simple, easy to update image dump where I can throw stuff and just have directories, like this guy:
http://wakkawa.iseenothing.com/ However, since I have to have an index file, is there no way at all to do this? Is there a way to auto generate it, so that I don't have to be constantly "updating a webpage" like I did with my old site? |
I presume your webhost has PHP support?
If so you could use this script: http://dospeixos.net/projects/maphp/ (Try the expandable version) Happy/Zerg are using it for their #comics distro, and it works great. |
I have an alternate script called the Directory Listing Script implemented on http://upload.jetsam.org. Again, you need PHP support.
Evilboris has also given me an alternate version (but no directory support!) which is being tested at Blah's condign distro :p |
I had this problem too, I just went to my webhost cp and there was an option to enable "directory listing" maybe you have that option too?

Yeah I spent like half an hour looking for it, and couldn't find it.
It was a free host though, and for some reason it wouldn't display images I uploaded, so looks like it's "back to the drawing board." I have another host someone recommended to me, and they said I can display simple directories if I want, so we'll see how that one pans out. |
