ATITool messed up my GPU speeds?

I've got the Sapphire X1900XT 256MB video card and I installed the latest version of ATITool. I hadn't changed anything at all inside the program, but when I hit "Default" it set my card down to 499.50MHz on the core, and 1188Mhz for the memory.

That is terrible because the card is listed as 620//1400Mhz. I even benchmarked the card afterwards and I'm getting much lower results than before. The thing is, I can't set the clocks back to stock and they seem permanent. I've tried uninstalling ATITool and the program will not let me set the card to the real default speeds.

I'm new to ATI, and I don't even know where to begin. Really frustrating.

Is there an equivalent to nVflash for ATI? Dump and reflash your GPU bios.

I would recommend reflashing your graphics card as well. You can use both ATIFlash and Flashrom to flash ATI GPU BIOSes. Check Techpowerup for the latest versions of ATIFlash, as well as its BIOS collection to find your original BIOS.

Make sure you understand the risks of flashing, and read the instructions thoroughly. Consider carefully if the benefits of flashing outweigh the risks.

Another tip (if the link doesn't have it): MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PCI GRAPHICS CARD!! This is just in case you mess up you won't have to reflash your BIOS blind (trust me, it sucks). Though if you followed directions, mis-flashing is pretty much slim to none.
