Candy Corn versus Candy Rockets

Well, Halloween is approaching and my question is, between these two things, which are better?

For me, Candy Rockets are the BEST! At the same time, I miss having Candy Corn... that stuff is good too. But when it comes to addiction, if I had both of them in front of me right now, the rockets would be gone MUCH quicker than the candy corn.

So... what do you perfer?

Fire On Ice Oct 15, 2006 01:21 AM

I'd take rockets over candy corn anyday. Candy corn makes me feel ill, whereas I can never have enough rockets, although they start to hurt the roof of my mouth after a while.

Alice Oct 15, 2006 06:50 AM

I don't even know what candy rockets are and I pick them over candy corn, which is nothing but sugary grease. Disgusting.

PiccoloNamek Oct 15, 2006 07:28 AM

What the hell are candy rockets?

Anyway, I love love love candy corn, so I'll pick it.

TheKnightOfNee Oct 15, 2006 08:19 AM

I've never heard of candy rockets, but candy corn is plain awful.

Arkhangelsk Oct 15, 2006 10:09 AM

I'm going to go with what everyone else is asking and say "What's a candy rocket?" Picture, please.

I personally love candy corn, but I know I'm kind of in the minority on this. Most everyone I know loathes it. :(

The Wise Vivi Oct 15, 2006 11:29 AM

Ok.. In the United States, they are called smarties so that might be the reason for confusion. In Canada, they are called rockets:

They are made in Laval, Quebec, Canada.

PiccoloNamek Oct 15, 2006 11:39 AM

Oh, in that case, I prefer Smarties. Why are they called rockets? They certainly don't look like rockets.

Even so, I still love candy corn.

They are called Rockets in Canada because they can't use the term Smarties in Canada. Nestle Smarties are different:

They are milk chocolate on the inside.

The Plane Is A Tiger Oct 15, 2006 01:19 PM

Blegh, I hate Smarties. Candy corn, on the other hand, is godly as long as you don't buy the cheap store brands. Those tend to be hard and tasteless, but good candy corn is worth waiting all year for.

Rockgamer Oct 15, 2006 02:08 PM

I hate both of these things, really. Smarties suck because they're not even that sweet, and candy corn sucks because...it just sucks. If I had to choose one though, I'd go with Smarties, because at least they don't suck to the point where I'll get sick after eating two of them.

knkwzrd Oct 15, 2006 02:12 PM

Do they not have Nestle Smarties in the States? It seems strange that they'd have the same name for two types of candy.

In any case, I vastly prefer rockets. Candy corn is pretty gross.

scotty Oct 15, 2006 02:23 PM

I prefer rockets too. I don't mind candy corn, but rockets are so much better. It seems no one really likes candy corn.

gidget Oct 15, 2006 05:29 PM

Smarties soo win. Those things are delicious. I hate candy corn.

WolfDemon Oct 15, 2006 05:53 PM

I think Lewis Black said it best:

"Candy corn is the only candy in the history of America that's never been advertised. And there's a reason. All of the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. And so, since nobody eats that stuff, every year there's a ton of it left over. And the candy corn company sends the guys out into the villages, to collect out of the dumpsters all the candy corn we've thrown away. They wash it! They wash it! I'll never forget the first time my mother gave me candy corn. She said, 'Here Lewis! This is corn that tastes like candy!' (takes it, eats it) ... 'This tastes like crap!' And every year since then, Halloween is returned and I, like an Alzheimer's patient, find myself in a room, and the room has a table in it, and on the table, is a bowl of candy corn. And I look at it, as if I've never seen it before. 'Candy corn,' I think. 'Corn that tastes like candy. I can't wait.' (takes it, takes a bite) 'SON OF A BITCH!'"

So yeah. Smarties/Rockets ftw.

Celes Chere Oct 15, 2006 05:56 PM

The term 'candy rockets' made me think of this bad boy:

I heard they were recently discontinued though. :(

Anyway, I love Smarties. :D I like candy corn, but only in moderation. Smarties definately gets my vote.

I've heard of those Nestle Smarties before, but I honestly don't believe I've ever seen them for sale here. So basically, we only have one type of Smarties candy in the US. They just seem like M&Ms anyway, so it's not like we're missing out on much.

scotty Oct 15, 2006 07:12 PM

Nestle Smarties are not sold in the US, they are sold in boxes in Canada, and they are sold in tubes in the UK. The only reason that the states don't get them is because they decided to call rockets smarties, and be different than the rest of the world. If you never had non united states smarties you are missing out.

Ameko Oct 15, 2006 07:23 PM

Smarties are my pills.

Nehmi Oct 15, 2006 08:57 PM

Candy corn is pretty disgusting, but smarties... they are addictive as crack. Still , even better then smarties are the small rolls of sweettarts they have that look nearly IDENITCAL. Best halloween candy ever.

Chibi Neko Oct 31, 2006 03:05 PM

I love the rockets! i used to get a ton of these on halloween!

So yeah. Smarties/Rockets ftw.

LMAO! I remember that one.

And, Candy Corn is horrible, and I would have picked Candy Rockets even if I didn't know what they were.

But yeah, Smarties/Candy Rockets are amazing stuff.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Nov 13, 2006 02:05 AM

I must be the only person in the world who likes candy corn. It tastes like pancake syrup. I've eaten tons of candy corn in my life.

Don't get me wrong, Smarties are awesome too. I'm just surprised at such an outpouring of hate toward candy corn.

Also, living near Canada, I can boldly attest that when I eat my Smarties, I eat the red ones last. M&Ms got nothing on Smarties.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Nov 13, 2006 07:01 AM

I like candy corn, too. Probably more than I like Smarties, actually.
