Phantasy Star Universe - XBOX Beta - Connection troubles?

Im in the UK on an NTL connection and cant seem to connect to the beta test for PSU. Anyone got any ideas? Turns out im not the only one with these issues.

Is it an official UK beta or are you using a modded Xbox? You never know, that could be the source of some of your problems.

Nope, they must be using some old Apple 2 as a server right now. The God damn connection is slower and more laggy than any online game I've played since I got broadband. PSO was better than this, and a lot of people connecting with that game were using DIAL UP.

Terrible way to show off your game, Sega. At least put some effort in to it. Holy shit.

Ive had 0 problems. /shrug

Just deleted my download of PSU. It is the official Beta download, and no my Xbox is not modded. I visited the official website and everyone there is having the same troubles. Sega should be ashamed that people cant even connect to their Beta to test it.

It's a shame that this beta is turning people away from the game. I've played the Japanese version for 40 hours and I have to say with all these issues out of the way the game is such a blast to play with your friends.

You guys should look into getting the PC/PS2 version on release date instead. I'd expect a half-assed XBOX 360 port to suck donkey balls like this considering it's mainly being done for American gamers because no one in Japan has an xbox.

360's is a port? WTF that makes me less likely to play it. Unless it actually takes advantage of the system.

Inhert Oct 16, 2006 06:48 AM

and you have to add that the PC/PS2 version share the same server (mean you can play on your PC with people on PS2)

but the xbox version will have they own server...

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Oct 16, 2006 07:53 AM

I'm tempted to get the Xbox version, if only because Kyndig, Kaze and Sailor Daravon are going to be playing it but even then it means staying up until stupid o'clock in the morning because of the time zone differences. I'll have another look when it actually gets released.

BIGWORM Oct 22, 2006 08:47 PM

PC all the way.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Oct 23, 2006 05:31 PM

But I only wanted to play it with those guys really. I'm not overly bothered with online rpgs generally.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Oct 23, 2006 07:36 PM

Shin, Daravon and company will be getting the PS2 version. The 360 version actually runs on seperate servers, and you wouldn't be able to play with those guys if you spring for the Xbox version. You'd have to get it either on PC or PS2 in order to play with them.

I also didn't know you had a 360. Shows what I know.

JasonTerminator Oct 24, 2006 12:46 AM

Dammit, I was totally going for the 360 version, but it looks like everyone won't be playing on it.

But the fucking PC version nor the PS2 version have widescreen support. What the fuck is Sega's problem?

Really? Oh well, I might get the PC version then. I don't own my own 360 just yet but one of my new flat-mates has one and he's too busy on his PhD thesis to use it much at the moment. ^_^
