Paying Attention

Do you pay attention to peoples faces when you walk down the street or when at school, or work, etc?

For me, I have a very good memory and when I walk by people I have a tendency in remember what they look like. After seeing them a few times, they are forever engraved in my head.

I am in my fourth year of University, and there was this guy I had seen quite often when I was walking to and from classes throughout the weeks. Last year, I met him face to face. I shook his hand and he told me his name. I said "Yeah, I have seen you around a lot". He goes "oh? I have never seen you before."

So, do you pay attention to the people you walk by?

Normally I don't. I honestly don't know where to look cause it feels awkward when you happen to catch a strangers eyes. My gaze is usually towards the floor or off to the side. But now that I have these mirrored sunglasses, I can look at everyone without anyone noticing. It's nice to be able to appreciate everyone's personal aesthetic qualities.

Nah, I generally don't pay attention to the people that I pass in the street. That is unless it is someone that I know or recognise, then I acknowledge them with a nod of the head ,a "hello" or a smile.
But when it comes to paying attention to strangers then I generally don't, unless they do something to catch my attention.

This is pretty much exactly what I do. I pay attention to everyone who passes me or who I pass. License plates too. I memorize all my friends' or acquaintances' license plates and can subsequently identify them when they're in their car before I can see their faces. It's cool.

I don't really pay attention to faces or clothes. I focus more on the conversations taking place, assuming whomever I'm watching is with someone else. I've heard many an interesting phrase this way.

My memory isn't that great, but if I do see someone enough, or if there's something unique about them, I'll remember. I think the only person I really stopped to talk to though was this lady who I saw walking a pretty corgi dog now and then. She thanked me for paying attention to her dog. Hehe.

Haha, yea. My friend and his friend have a thing between them where they catch the last sentence or couple of words of a conversation as they passed by. This one time one of them heard a girl say "I'll cut you." She probably didn't mean that literally but it's still funny.

There's a lot of people I walk by at school who are angry about one thing or another. If it's not financially based, it's about a break up.

I don't typically make eye contact with people I pass by on campus. I may occasionally look up and see a few people, but I generally do a quick scan of a crowd in front or around me while walking between classes.

There's a boy I see every semester and I remember what he looks like clearly because he always wears the same hat. He seems to be in a rush each time I see him as well. I've always thought it was odd that out of all the students at school during different times in a day, I manage to cross paths with him the most.

I recognize lots of people on campus. They don't know me, and I don't want to know what their fetishes are either.

I'll remember a face if I see it again. Every once in a while, I'll walk by someone on campus, and think, "I had a chemistry lab with that person three years ago."

If I ever had to describe a face for police as a witness though, they'd be out of luck. I am terrible at recalling what people look like when not staring directly at their face. I can never tell what color a person's eyes are, or the color of their hair. Often times I cannot remember if they wear glasses or not, or even if they had facial hair or not. I guess I somehow remember the overall shape and appearance of the face, and not any of the small details that make it up?

I usually pay attention to the people around me, but won't remember them unless there is something that happens to catch my eye.

It's DESTINY. osnap love

Anyway, I always pay attention to the people around me. Ninjas gotta do this, what can I say? Plus, in a dangerous area like mine, gotta know your surroundings. Like Kazyl, I try to look at everybody without anyone noticing. I try to avoid eye contact, since that is awkward, especially if you get caught looking the person who's looking at you more than once... weird. The quick head turn gets used often in this case. Plus, on occasion, I'll see people I know, and that's usually fun.

I also used to listen to people to, but that was way long ago, before I had in-ear monitors that seal away all outside noise (including traffic noises, cafaterias, animals...) except loud girls on the metro. :/

I find that so often, noticing or talking to random people isn't worth it, so I don't bother. It's always lame to think "Hey, I might meet someone cool!" and then have your hopes quashed. Better off just not meeting or noticing them at all.

Personally, I am more interested in hearing other people's conversations (as I am an avid eavesdropper). Occasionally, you will hear something interesting that concerns you/others you know.
