What stereotypes do you fit into?
 

OK, so, you know how there are stereotypes for every minority (and majority) group out there, so here's a question for you:

Which stereotypes hold true for you?

for example, I am a gay male who lives in the Southern U.S..

I enjoy kitch in many varieties.
I not only like musical theatre (in general, don't get me started on Rodgers and Hammerstein), I have performed in several shows (one of which was written by Stephen Sondheim). I also like opera and various other theatrical things.

I enjoy kitschy things. In my room I have all three of the Star Wars Mr. Potato Heads, as well as a resin statue of a dog pissing. Japanese kitsch is particularly enjoyable.

I like dance music. Well, some dance music. Also, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys make me happy.

Ummm . . . I like the mansex.

What about y'all (yeah a few of my word choices are about the only thing that are stereotypical about me living where I do. Don't listen to just country, don't fly a confederate flag, yadda yadda yadda)?

I'm the snobby fag. I love overpriced, expensive shit that I can't ever afford, but I waste my money on it all anyway.

I'm black, and I ♥LOVE♥ chicken and watermelon!

I'm a New Englander - I'm damned proud of my region, I'm a Red Sox fan, I think New England is as big as the world, and I am a cold woman who needs to be in by ten o'clock.

Thats pretty much the only thing I can think of that I fit into.

Except for the typical fat, nuturing type. I am all about nuturing. Don't tell anyone.

I'm a girl. I know how to knit and sew. I am interested in becoming better at cooking, but that is really more so I'm not a complete failure of a human being. Everyone should know how to cook.

I'm a middle-class white college student.

I'm lazy, live with my parents, and I'm scared of black people.

I suppose I'm a cliche Californian (in the eyes of Texans) in that I drink soymilk and eat tofu. On a regular basis.

People tell me that I seem like I could be goth, and I'm inclined to agree, since I like a lot of the literature/clothing/music that surrounds it, and I'm pale as a ghost to boot. Unfortunately, I'm not fascinated by death nor am I in any hurry to die, so on some levels I fail to fit into the stereotype. I find myself loathing mallgoths, or indeed anyone who claims to be goth when they are more emo than anything else.

Oh yeah, and I'm totally a bookworm/music nerd. I even have the glasses to prove it.

I'm fat, single and not particularily smart. I'm a stereotypical internet girl.

I'm a 24 year old white male who lives with his parents, has action figures and Star Wars posters hanging from his walls, and views women as objects of both sublime wonder and nebulous intent.



I know. It's almost too good, isn't it? The only thing I really have going for me is that I'm going to college.

I'm asian female, I wear black eyeliner, eat rice and have more designer shit than I should be able to afford (blame my mom, seriously she buys me Gucci shoes when I'm fine with normal ones). That's pretty much it, I don't have long black hair, horrible blonde highlights, ragged split ends and I'm not 3 feet tall and weight 50 pounds.

I'm a girl so I also knit and sew and am scared of bugs and mice. And I drive a Toyota.

I'm an asian guy.

Stereotypical Junk:
I play the piano...plus a handful of other instruments.
I am skinny.
I eat rice. I use chopsticks. I eat Kimchi.
I drive a Toyota.
I play videogames. I like Starcraft and Warcraft. DRR included.
I took all accelerated classes and APs in high school.
I like science and math.
I am trying to go to Medical School after college.

Weird Quirks:
I dated only white girls in high school.
I am assertive and open-minded.
I did a hell of a lot of drugs back in the day.
I participate in organized sports.
I can't break dance...;_;...(I wish I could)

I am a white, 22 year old male who is from a small town in northwestern ontario called Emo.

Which means, people automatically think all the kids in Emo, Ontario are emo... which isn't true... for the most part.

I take solace in the fact that Im a young white male. The skys the limit, right?

I'm somewhat stereotypical Jewish in the sense that don't like to pay a lot for things, but on the other hand, I buy a shitload of stuff (Much of it way overpriced for what a person my age and lifestyle would need.)

I'm also really prone to staying up late and getting up late, as most college students are, and I have an annoying tendency to skip too many classes.

I'm also fat and white, play lots of videogames and generally don't talk much to other people.

I'm a Canadian guy:

I play hockey.
I watch hockey.
I love hockey.
I say "eh".
I like poutine.
I own plaid.
I like the outdoors/camping.

I'm the 5'6" short Asian dude residing in Canada that attracts a lot of people's glares and stares probably because of my frowning facial expression that I've put on ever since I was little. I can't help it, I'm not really the people's person in mornings and late afternoons.

I'm a white guy who likes Rush.

I am a 24 year old white Newfoundland woman.

-I have a thick newfie accent and slang
-I love to go out in boat
-I love to fish when we are allowed to
-I love to dance a jig
-I love newfie jokes
-I want a newfoundland dog
-I love to tell stories
-I clean my house often and love to cook for my boyfirend
-I am the ruler of the house and what I says goes, mainly because what I says is best for the home.
-I know many home remedies and tricks for fixing pratical things and old first aid.
-I currently work at a call center that works for a Americain company
-We really do say 'yes b'y' in every 5th sentance

People like you ruin it for the rest of us.

I dont really fit into any stereotypes. Im the straightest gay bloke there is, I study media production but I dont like grungy music, Im a little bit overweight but I dont eat at all, and I like playing on computers which is unusual for a gay man.

I have met the most stereotypical gays in my time though, tall, skinny, camp as summer camp, and gay as the trees.

I'm a middle class "soccer mom" type (although none of my kids play soccer). I drive an SUV and spend way too much time talking on my cell phone while simultaneously juggling less important activities like drinking Starbucks lattes and driving. My husband is the breadwinner and my house is very clean. I often find myself saying things like, "Have a good day, honey," and "No more snacks before dinner."

typical 20 year old white computer nerd:

1. fat
2. plays video games on all systems at almost all times
3. majoring in a computer-related field
4. loves anime
5. can think of no better drink than mountain dew, coffee or any other high sugar/caffiene drink
6. bit of a recluse
7. lives on the web.
8. loves midieval things.

I'm a Newfoundland-born 20-year-old nerd:
-I spend most of my day in front of my monitor, either surfing forums or watching anime.
-I am single
-I am pale and physically weak
-I love to game online
-I haven't spent money on games, music, or movies in a loooong time.
-I drink at least one pot of coffee daily
-I dance jigs from time to time
-When I eat out, I go to the fish & chips place around the block. I consider it a delicacy.
-I love poutine. Canadian, eh?

That much said, while I do use the local slang from time to time, I rarely say "b'y". That's a rural Newfie thing, us townies have pretty weak accents. :P

You made this post while simultaneously having a Boards of Canada sig. I am in complete disbelief.

Most people would call me a stereotypical nerd:

- I read a lot.
- I'm a loner.
- I don't have many friends. Instead of hanging out with my friends, I spend a lot of time online and on GFF. Y'all are much more entertaining than anyone I know.
- I'm single. I've had offers, but I wouldn't date anyone from my area even if they paid me.
- I play video games, though not as often as I'd like to.
- I wear glasses.
- I don't wear make-up.
- I wear my hair either in a ponytail, in a chomp clip, or down. I don't have the patience to learn how to style my hair.
- I don't keep up with fashion. Jeans, t-shirts, and cheap sneakers are fine with me.
- I make good grades.
- My sense of humor is extremely nerdy.
- I listen to classical music and other non-mainstream stuff.
- I used to play a musical instrument (and still would if I could).
- I love anything that has to do with the Middle Ages or the Renaissance. I'm one of those folks who loves to go to the Renaissance Festivals and dress up and stuff.

I'm not as pathetic as that list makes me sound. Really.
