[Multi-platform] Guitar Hero II
 

So I'll flirt with doom and suggest we start a seperate thread on GH2. Its release is one month away and I just played the demo for it (in PSM's November issue). Thank god they've put new modes and more songs in the game, otherwise it would deserve a lower score than the original because there's not much to differentiate it based on gameplay and graphics.

Now that Harmonix has announced an Xbox 360 version that may feature downloadable content...I hope not, otherwise I'll have to buy a 360.

MTV revealed the pastie on GH2's boob recently on "The G-Hole" (whatever the hell that is) and showed a listing of the first 6 tiers of the game's song list (which included some songs they weren't supposed to reveal, which led to them later censoring them):

I'll probably end up buying this for the 360. I always wanted to try out the original game, and with possible downloadable content, this is a no-brainer.

I remember seeing Sandman on another track list for GH2, so there should be at least 1 metallica song.

My friend wanted to get this for the 360... Songlist looks interesting. And I took a first listen to Beast and the Harlot... Can't wait for that.

It's about time they got Freebird. I was pretty shocked not to see it on the original, to be honest.

After playing the demo, consisting of the songs "You Really Got Me", "YYZ", "Shout At the Devil" and "Strutter", I find that I cant wait for the game. It's more difficult than last time around, with the addition of 3-fret chords. Other than that (and the co-op which isnt in the demo) there isnt anything too new about the game mechanics -- which is a good thing.

I'll probably buy it for PS2 and X360, just because it comes out so much later on the 360. Plus the 360's guitar is sexy.

I'm probably going to follow the same path as Lipid. Unless they come out with a PS3 version too, then I'll get that instead of the 360 one.

Holy shit! "Hangar 18's" gonna make "Cowboys From Hell" look like child's play! My fingers are sore just from seeing that it's in there!

Can anybody post the tabs for Hangar 18?

I don't understand what you sent me...5 files...I can't open any..they seem like execute files. Do I need a special program to open them (I'm working on a mac).

Yes those tabs are for a program called guitar pro, will help you immensly with your playing, i been playing for 3 years and i already can do some pretty dandy stuff (And still find Hangar 18's later-half pretty hard, or annoying ot say the least :( )

Anyway it's a hard song, best of luck with it, and it wouldn't hurt to thank people for offering what you asked for..

Wow, it's pretty awesome that there is a Living End song on the tracklist. Also they could have picked a better Wolfmother track, but I guess Wolfmother don't have the most difficult or varied guitar work. This tracklist is better than the first, but you know, still not enough to warrant a purchase when the gameplay is still the same.

So, I've listened to Hangar 18 about 20 times over the past two days, and I'm pretty obsessed with getting to do battle with this little bitch on expert...

I'm getting pretty god-damned psyched for GH2 now! WOOT!

Gotta sharpen my skills on Cowboys and Bark (my sightreading is pretty good...managed to beat YYZ on expert in one shot)

Can't wait for those other tracks I have heard. I'm relatively illiterate in classic rock and metal. Ah well, Red Octane will be my teacher :)

I got to play some guitar hero 2. It was an instore event thingy they did in a mall I visited. so I played YYZ, failedin about 15 seconds, crazy ass time pattern and then I also played Madhouse which was fun and interesting on hard. Got to play a 3 key chord which was interesting too.

The wal-mart that I work at is holding a tourny 3 days after the release of Guitar Hero 2, first place is going to win a copy of their own and the second and third place will get gift cards.

I just started to get into this game when I went on a few of my breaks as of late (we have a station set up for the first game) and it should be interesting to see if a lot of excellent guitar hero players sign up for this tournament. If there are new buttons/features built into the game, it should be cool to watch.

I cannot BELIEVE they're putting the Trogdor song in this game. Wow, that just kicks so much ass.

I was really hoping for some Dragonforce, but oh well!
