What genre are you interested in? You can check out srtest.com to view a bunch a games and to see whether or not your system can handle it.

I'm interested in adventure, horror, or even Airplane shooters, games like Ikaruga, things of that sort. Also looking for games like Trauma Center also.

They have made Silent Hill 2-4 for the PC that I know of.... not to sure about the original. They are a hard to find in stores. You might also want to try the Resident Evil series. I've seen RE3 on the shelves but not 4, even though they say 4 is the best.

RE4 isn't out for PC yet. It should be out fairly soon though. I'd go with one of the other Resident Evil games until the fourth installation comes out. Try out Resident Evil 2, I thought that it was alright.

But would my PC even be able to handle a Resident Evil 4 game...also, is it better to get a USB converter for PS2 control to PC or a dedicated PC control?

Magic Oct 3, 2006 01:00 AM

You'll probably need more RAM and a real graphics card before your PC can handle a game like RE4 (just a guess since there aren't any specs for RE4).

From personal experience, I'd recommend just getting a USB->PS2 converter. I've finally seen them back at Radio Shack, and they're not too expensive and the PS2 controller is probably the most adaptable one you can get.

For Shooting games MAME is the best option, but there are nice games ported for PC like Shikigami no Shiro 1+2+3, G-Darius and Rayden 3

Yeah thats one thing i always had a problem running...MAME...alot of people mentioned MAME have great shooters...games i like, like Ikaruga, Raiden III, Espgaluda...MAME would be a great thing...

as for MapleStory that was great advice...enjoy it alot ^_^

PS1 shooter ikaruga type, but horizontal scrolling.. i dont know much about Ikaruga actually. Take a look at R-type delta, and Einhander. Brave fencer musashi.. would have to emulate them i suppose. SNES's Darius Twin was good... This ridiculous game Torus Trooper from asahi-net.or.jp

I'd recommend the turn based games Worms Armageddon or Gunbound, depends on wether you have the patience and if you value humour or chibi style graphics more. Worms you might have to pay money for to buy if you're not into torrents, but since all the worms games have gone 3D since then people still play the 2D version because the gameplay difference is vast so it's not exactly a money burner like when it was first released. As for gunbound it's totally free to play and download although they do try to scam you with gimmicks like equipable headgears and stuff >.>
