Monitor troubles...

So I got a new LCD monitor. This one, actually. It seemed like a good deal.

Anyways, I think there is a problem with it. Every once in a while (about every 20 minutes), the screen will go completely blank for about 2 seconds, and then turn back on and be completely normal, and then repeat about 20 minutes later. I know its minor, but my god it gets annoying. I am using the digital output on an ATI Radeon 9550 256mb video card.

Have any of you heard of this problem before?

Do you think that there is most likely a problem with the monitor, or possibly with the video card? This is the first time I’ve used the digital video capability before, but why would it happen roughly every 20 minutes?

Any input would be awesome.

if you are using a controller to play mugen it can be that you don't press any key for 20 minutes (default time for the monitor to turn off automatically). the screen automatically gets dark (turned off) but when you press a key in the keyboard or move the mouse the screen goes back to normal.

If you discovered that was the problem with your monitordo the following: on your desktop right-click and select properties, then go to the screensaver part and select "energy" (I think it is energy, my cpu is in spanish, sorry). a new window will come up and an option will say something like "turn monitor off:" there it must say 20 minutes but you want, you can set it to "never".

Maybe it can be the screensaver if it is set to 20 minutes, if so, turn it off, however, be aware that if doing what I say you should turn off your monitor with the button on it every time that colors are going to stay still for 8 minutes or longer or your monitor will start discomposing:

PS: some controllers have keyboard keys on them, I have a nostromo gamepad and I have "enter" and "escape" keys on them.

I hope I was of help, good luck with that!!!
