Sony's Battery Recall: Take ??3??

This has cost them nearly $500 Million to date. :\

On CNN this morning they were saying Sony was thinking about just recalling batteries from all laptop manufacturers so they can avoid any more lawsuits on the thing. (They also said that a global recall could cost sony up to $500 million, not it already has. >_>)

Also, does anyone know if a bad battery could cause the power brick to have issues? My brother has a HP laptop that's had two of those guys go bad on him (one started smoking and melted a little, I believe) and he just sent the computer back to get inspected (which totally sucks for him since he works on the road and now has no laptop to do his day to day work).

Haha, oh wow.
Maybe Sony should just give up making laptop batteries.
