Dynamic Duos in Rock

My God what a cheesy title, but it speaks for itself. Who's your favorite?

Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher are in the top of my list, not only they're brothers but have some good chemistry on stage, they're basically Oasis as the band could not exist without them.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, I admire them and but not a particular fan of his music. I won't mention Lennon/McCartney so other people can comment on them. Shit, I just did it. :edgartpg:

Always thought Gilmour and Waters clicked well in Pink Floyd:tpg:

Those two geriatric lads from The Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger & Keith Richards) always struck me as having good chemistry, I guess also Robert Plant and Jimmy Page too even though they've had their up's and downs through the years.

Personal fave is Ogre & cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy)

Miho Hatori and Yuka Honda from Cibo Matto. Now that was a fucking team of musicians.

What about Helmut and Franz Vonlichten, okay. Posthumus FTW.

I could be a complete VGM nerd and say "Yoshitaka Hirota and Yasunori Mitsuda." But SH was way more Hirota than Mitsuda.

Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, the masterminds behind Steely Dan.

I don't care how many cool points I'm docked for being into Steely Dan, those guys write the slickest music you'll ever hear in your life. No other band has combined jazz and pop music like they have and been nearly as successful. Dudes took almost twenty years off, came back in 2000, and are just as good now as they were in the 70's.

I have to go with John and Tom Fogerty of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Sure, you could argue that it was all John, but there was always something missing on his solo records, and it sure as hell wasn't Stu Cook.

Easy answer: Boon and Watts ( Minutemen )

Little Brenty Brent Brent Sep 22, 2006 09:52 PM

Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell
Chuck Schuldiner and Gene Hoglan
Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske
Axl Rose and Slash
Jason Becker and Marty Friedman
Ian Gillan and Ritche Blackmore
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant
Alexi Laiho and Janne Warman
Phil Anselmo and Dimebag Darrell
Freddie Mercury and Brian May
Chris Cornell and Kim Thayil
Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth
Kyle Gass and Jack Black

I would write a bit about each one, but jesus, that's a lot of writing, so you guys can do your own research if you haven't heard of them.

Flea and Frusciante. Gods of their instruments.

Flea with melodic and sweet funky bluesy bass. John with the defining, original and innovative riffs on the acoustic and the axe. John really completes things with his 60s-spirited voice and lyrics.
