GF Classic: Your residual self. And shut up Kurado.
Your residual self. I think that`s the way the Matrix movies described it. Basically, it`s the way you unconsciously think of yourself and it`s put out in your clothes when you enter the Matrix. I`m really bad at explaining this, I hope you guys understand. It might not even be the way you dress normally, it could be explained as more your personality. DO I MAKE ANY SENSE THESE DAYS?
I`m not much for flash. Maybe some black jeans, brown Airwalk boots, and a longsleeved shirt. A cape too... If by any means you don`t know what the fuck this thread is asking of you, ask me and I`ll try to explain it in better detail. |
Some really sloppy(SP?) black jeans and a loose white t-shirt and some comfortable sandals. I'm a creature for comfort.
The matrix got you...a sofa chill out. |

Huh? Explain Please. |
Basically, I think what he meant was that, when you're online, do you perceive yourself differently from your actual self? And in this case, what does your online self appear as, according to you?
|
I hope my online self appears as someone in lounging clothes--comfy slacks (shorts) and a t-shirt, since 95% of the time I'm usually in uniform.
|
So if the Matrix was real, what would we wear? I'd wear some awesome calf high boots with heavy jeans, a band t-shirt, probably Iced Earth, Emperor or something, and a long black leather trench coat.
|
If we're going for the way that Hyde explained it, I'd probably be wearing a dark blue blazer with a light blue dress shirt under that. And a stylish tie. For the bottom half dark jeans and dress shoes.
I dunno. >_< I still don't completely get the thread. I'll probably change up my explanation when it becomes clearer. |
If this thread is what I think its about then my matrix avatar would be in black jeans, a black shirt with a leather jacket and black sneakers with some shades. That or totally decked out in tactical CQB gear.
|
Id proably be sporting dark blue loose fitting jeans, a black longsleeve shirt, and a black tech vest. I would wear black vans, and maybe have some cool ass black gloves.
|
totally naked. wait. maybe some black boots.
and a cape. |
I'd probably be all gothed out, black eye liner, black clothes, straight black hair and the surliest expression I can muster. All decked out in tattoos and piercings that I wouldn't dare to get in real life.
|
I'd wear what I usually wear: Black flat front slacks, 14-eyelet Dr. Martens, Black A-Shirt, silver two-piece charm around my neck, and a black leather sports jacket.
|
I'd probably appear like I do when I lived in California or whenever I visit there: olive green cargo pants and tattered sandals, a Bad Ass Coffee t-shirt and sharktooth necklace. I pretty much dressed like a beach bum once I graduated from high school and got into college, ergo the choice since those were the best years of my life.
|
I perceive myself as constantly wearing a gestapo uniform.
Once my SS hat arrives my dream will be complete. |
I'm naked online.
I'm also naked right now. Edit: Wait, I forgot, I'm wearing a days-old jock strap. It's pretty much part of my skin now. People tell me it smells really bad. But I think the aliens have them too. That's why I wear my crown of tin. Keeps them out. |
This thread's purpose *is* a bit ... err ... open to interpretation. Are you asking how we see ourselves?
When ever I've a reason to envision myself in third person, my representation is wearing worn-out khakis with duck tape over the left knee and a groundskeeper's uniform shirt, because that is what I live in. During the school year it's probably wearing jeans and a tee, and a grey suit jacket. It's elegantly coifed hair usually has wind blowing on it, even though there is none. |
How people see me when I'm on the internet? I envision myself with a polyester leisure suit with my fly down.
"Who the fuck are you?" "I'm Fatt. I'm soo cool with my suit and martini." "No. Your suit was never cool and your martini is sweet, not dry." "I'm still cool!" "Your fly is down." "Oop! I'm out!" I'm actually here for data and information gathering and exchange, and developing contacts and networks. Of course, their are also a number of people who find me asanine and inept. I actually find it funny, so sometimes I'll play along to watch their egos inflate. |
