I honestly don't see the point of listening to this band's post Bon Scott material. They're not great musicians, they're not great songwriters, and Scott had all the charisma that made them so entertaining.

They're excellent at good ol' hard rockin' noise.

Bon was fabulous, but I also quite like Brian's screechiness.

The appeal of this band is totally beyond me, I think they're seriously dire! I'd assume the life show with Bon Scott at the helm was great but apart from that I find them a one tune pony, not to kill your thread or anything just to give opinion. Also is Jailbreak a cover of the Thin Lizzy song?

AC/DC is love em or hate em, and I hate em. No real reason outside of the fact that I dont like their sound. I feel the same about the Rolling Stones. Its just a sound that I cant seem to get into.

Although I do enjoy T.N.T if just for how raw it is.

Nope. Two different songs.

Actually, the promotional video made for AC/DC's Jailbreak is pretty funny.

AC/DC ROCKS!.......:edgarrock: and Metallica.. don't mean to change the subject, but does anyone like Metallica?

Gratch Sep 19, 2006 09:04 PM

AC/DC have always come across as fratboy-ish nonsense to me, but to each their own.

As far as Metallica, they were great up until the Black album (Justice for All is still one of my favorites). They've been utter shite since.

Bubblehead1123 Sep 19, 2006 10:35 PM

yea, I like the older Metallica.. they were much better then...

Grubdog Sep 19, 2006 10:56 PM

WOW people not liking ACDC? I didn't know that was even POSSIBLE! It's straight up rock and roll with some of the best guitar ever.

Living Legend Sep 19, 2006 11:26 PM

I am another who also dislikes AC/DC, it's just the sound of the vocalist that sounds horrible to me. When vocals are horrible it just throws the whole sound of the band off for me.

Metallica, I used to love Metallica. Oddly, I love the Load albums because they were completely different from almost anything that I have listened to at the time. St. Anger though, that was just horrible and I can't imagine how ANYONE could tolerate that sound of that...whatever you want to call it.

Well, I can understand people not liking Brian Johnson's vocals, but Bon Scott....

So lurid....

I definitely like AC/DC. Good old hard rock. I personally don't care who the vocalist is, it sounds good to me.

Metallica, fantastic up until the Black Album, and then just lost it by sucking Bob Cock's cock.

Pretty much yeah, I actually don't mind the Black album but its not Metallica in the grand sense of the word, after that album have no time for them (but Puppets is a fucking amazing album).
Oh, has anyone heard the new stuff? Its also dire!

Majin yami Sep 20, 2006 03:42 AM

AC/DC are ok. Gotta like 'Back In Black' and 'Big Balls' though.

Better than St. Anger so far at least. Of course that's not saying much.

RABicle Sep 20, 2006 04:58 AM

I live in Fremantle, it's where Bon Scott is buried. On the main street of Fremantle there is this awesome street art of Bon that is so good the City of Fremantle decided to not scrub it off like they do with other graffitti. I should take a photo of it for you true ACDC fans. I would suggest that the weak girly men who don't like accadacca avert their eyes next time I reply to this thread.

Ok then. Could we possibly talk a little less about Metallica and a bit more about AC/DC? :)

JesperStromblad Sep 21, 2006 11:22 AM

I Love both Brian and Bon Scott (a legend).

But what got me since the first time I listened them surely was Angus Young, damn! he surely isn't the best guitarrist in the world when it comes to technique, but I think no one can make simple great rock'n'roll like him!

He's one of my influences on guitar :D

I just love how hyper he acts.
