Subtitle not working

And downloaded a movie via torrent and it has the following files- Shinobi Eng.srt, Shinobi.avi, and Shinobi.srt. This file was suppose to have subs but they aren't working. Any ideas?

what worked for me was dling the CCCP.....its a community codec pack, just google it, it'll come up.....hopefully it'll solve the problem

Good news- It worked.
Bad news- They aren't english =/ I honestly don't know what language they are in... but it's not english.

Any other ideas? I honestly don't want to work another week to download another one.

Unless you're loading Shinobi.srt and not Shinobi Eng.srt. Change the name of Shinobi Eng.srt to just Shinobi.srt and stick the original Shinobi.srt that's in something that isn't English somewhere else.

so you're saying thte subtitle file i'm using isn't english?
