Forcing Firefox to open download box for .wmv files?
 

Does anyone know how to force Firefox to open the download box when I click on a direct-download link to a .wmv file? Whenever I click on the .wmv link it loads up a blank page and downloads through the browser, then once it is done downloading through the browser it opens up in my media player.

For almost all other files a download box will pop up when I click on the direct-download link. How come it doesn't pop up for .wmvs?

In Tools > Options, there should be a button to View/Edit actions. In there you tell Firefox what to do with each file type. Scroll down the list and when you get to .wmv, choose to open in external player. Should work.
