Widescreen woes.

I recently bought a 20.5" Tatung 16:10 HD-ready television to use as an all-in one sort of station. (recognized as Tatung V20KQDX) It's connected through a VGA cable as of now, and after a lot of tweaking, it displays my desktop just fine in a 16:10 aspect ration. It used to do the same for my games (with the predicted stretching for the non-native supported ones) until I tried playing Day of Defeat: Source, which fucked up the display somehow, and now every time I try to run any game, whether it's Space Rangers 2, or Counter Strike, whenever the game loads, the screen displays it about 3 inches off the right side of the screen. I know it's being rendered because I tried changing the horizontal alignment on the tv itself, but that only got me so far.

So why the Hell is my tv spazzing out, and are there any solutions that don't involve a DVI cable I've already ordered but hasn't gotten here yet?

You could always try reinstalling your video card drivers (by uninstalling them first). I really badly messed up my resolution settings a while back by tweaking a few *.inf files and the only way to make things better was to reinstall the drivers, upon which (with some tweaking) everything was alright again.

Already in the process of downloading the Nvidia drivers. We'll see what comes of it.

Double Post:
Oh hey. It looks like Day of Defeat: Source is the instigator in all of this. I read through my manual and noticed that I had some monitor settings that weren't specified. After setting the monitor to 1024x768 at 60hz, Space Rangers and Counter-Strike: Source display properly again, but DoD caused the monitor to wonk out all over again.

I guess the game just doesn't like my tv.
