Does an x-fi xtreme music soundcard require a floppy disk drive power connector?
When I say floppy disk drive power connector, I mean the mini 4 pin female connectors (the ones that go into the floppy male connector to power the floppy disk drive).
When I was changing my power supply today, I noticed that my x-fi card (keep in mind that this is the xtreme music card- the cheapest one) had a few things on it that looked like connectors. My system detects the soundcard, but when I play battlefield 2 with x-fi sound enabled, I noticed no difference. If a connector is required, could there possibly be a need to plug it in if I want to enable x-fi? If so, which one do I connect it to? There were a few ports on the card, so I don't know which one. Also, where can I get a splitter cable that has mini 4 pin female connectors? Thanks. |
The manual (which you could have simply downloaded from the Creative website) says:
"Powers the X-Fi I/O Console* via the AD_Link connector. Connect a power cable from your computer's power supply to this connector." I think this is just to power the external I/O console though. http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.ph...19BFE709D9A034 |
