Do you still watch it or did you stop watching it when it started to suck (around 10th or 11th season)?

1. 9-1 City of NY vs. Homer Simpson: My favorite episode ever. I could watch this one over and over again

I don't go above season 13 if I can help it. Everything onwards is just... Unfunny.

I'm particularly fond of most of the Halloween specials, and I'm also partial to "HOMЯ" and "Bart Sells His Soul".

I still watch the show religiously, even if the episode sucks. In the later seasons, if you're patient, a good one comes about every now and then. Also i find some of them get funnier with subsequent watchings.

I have some favourites, but i don't know the season and episode numbers, or titles.

I still watch it, despite the fact that the show is nowhere near the same quality as seasons past. I still get some laughs from it, I just don't laugh all throughout the episode like I used to. For what it's worth though, it may not be the funniest show on the air anymore, but it's still a hell of a lot better than some of the other stuff still on (like just about any sitcom on ABC).

As for a favorite episode, Jesus, there are so many I like I could never pick just one, or even a few. I really need to start buying this show on DVD, even though I've seen most of the older episodes too many times to count (even most of the newer ones I've seen at least twice).

I haven't watched any new episodes in years. My main problem with the show is just how self-absorbed it is. It knows it's the most successful cartoon and it's never afraid to gloat about itself. I hate that aspect of it, and I don't find it funny.

My all time favorite would have to be the one when Marge is commissioned to paint a portrait of Mr. Burns. I forget the name of the episode, but it's always been my favorite.

If you're talking about Brush with Greatness, I do remember this one. It was pretty great, yeah! ;)

That's the one! My favorite part about that episode is that Mr. Burns delivers a lot of brilliant lines.

My favorite being when Smithers is reading him the latest Ziggy comic and Burns laughs and says "ahh Ziggy... Will you ever win?"

I stopped watching Simpsons right around the 10th season. The change to digital paint was a bit of a shock to me. It certainly holds a different feel to it and when you're used to a hand painted show, you can spot the difference. If it started off digital, like Futurama, I wouldn't care.

I'd have to say that Simpsons is now my second favorite all time show, with Futurama being the number one. That's mostly for the fact that I feel Futurama to have more quality episodes, and won't run past its prime.

Regardless, I'll watch the movie when it comes out, however I do hope they end the series then. They're already the longest running sitcom I believe, so enough is enough please.

I didn't know The Simpsons was still on the air. Are they still on FOX? I hate that channel and haven't watched it in the past three years. My favorite episode would have to be the one where Lisa gets a psychic reading of the future, where everyone is grown up and she's the president. It's the only episode I can remember specifically. Back in the day, The Simpsons was the funniest show on TV, then came Southpark and now Family Guy.

I don't know about you guys over there, but here in Germany, the 17th season just started.

Future-Drama? I mean, the one where they can look into the future?

Its a legendary programme, but i've found myself laughing less and less during it. I mean, the whole special guest in each episode just for the hell of it annoys me.
Fave episode is without doubt the one with Scorpio, cant remember the episode name, but that character is bloody hilarious, "when you get home there'll be another story on your house!"

I gave up on this show a long time ago. I make a point of avoiding it these days, even with the new series (don't know which one) being show on TV.

I did used to watch this all the time, but after I had seen the same few several times, I stopped watching it. It was getting repetitive anyway.

Favorite episode? I'm afraid I don't have one.

which 1 bart has got a crush on a few girls there was that teenage one the reverands daughter the girl who ended up goin to some all girls bording school the list goes on.

as for me i really stoped watching it ince there was nothin but reruns no really new episode although i would say my favorite episode is the one where santas little helper becomes suds mcduff "you really are duff man... then i must be jesus!! UP UP AND AWAY!!!!!!" *jumps out of a window* "AAAAHHHH!!!!!"

I still watch it, but I have noticed that the later episodes aren't really as good as the earlier ones. I don't have a particular favorite epsiode, as I like a lot of them, and some of them have been named already (like when Homer works for Hank Scorpio, I love how he stops the James Bond-lookalike from getting away lol).

I have to admit, it almost seems as if the writers and producers have run out of ideas or something for the show, even the halloween ones are starting to suck too (I loved the ones where they parodied old movies, such as King Kong and The Shining. Even the early zombie one is better than the one where they get rid of guns and the zombies with guns come back and takeover).

The Simpsons definitely has lost it's touch. It's rare I even smile when I watch a new episode, let alone laugh. I can't even remember the plot of one episode from season 17 (which has almost finished airing in Aus. last episode next week).Favourite episode? Well this is a bit biased seeing as I watched this episode just the other day, but it really is a classic, IMO. "Bart Gets an Elephant". Favourite quotes from that episode:

"I'm alive. I'm alive! And I owe it all to this feisty feline."
"Dad, feline means cat."
"Elephant, honey. It's an elephant!"

"Now, I'll just pull my legs out with my arms, and pulls my arms out with my face." - Homer, when stuck in quicksand (probably not an accurate quote).

Also, "Homer: Bad Man" is a classic. I love the whole Rock Bottom interview =P And like Musharraf said, "City of NY vs. Homer Simpson" is a hilarious episode. A truly memorable show in it's day.

Edit: Oh yeah, now's a good time to ask this. Does anyone know what episode contains Homer, at the bank I think, impersonating Lisa's voice to get candy? I've had that scene in my head for ages and can't remember the episode it's from...

Seasons 9-large parts of 13/14 are pretty darn bad with a few really bright spots left in. Homer VS The City of New York is HILARIOUS. I'm hoping the World Trade Center gag is left in on the DVD's. I remember falling all over myself laughing at that. However - no matter how many times I see it, "The Principal And The Pauper is still bar none the worst episode ever created for that show. The creators even know its bad referencing it a few times here and there in jest. :)

I've lately gotten back into watching it again and have discovered that seasons 15-17 have actually had some really good episodes. There are still a few mediocre ones in there but not anywhere near as all around bad as prior ones though. The show seems to go through phases of absolute brilliance VS periods of "WTF were they thinking allowing this one through"

Ahh, good times. Always catch the old replays at 5pm, heh, there isn't a day that goes by without me watching at least one Simpsons episode.

Favorite one... kinda too many. But a couple that are on the top of my list is The Last Temptation of Homer (the one where he meets Mindy), Homer Badman (the candy convention, "precious Venus... ahhhh"), and Brother from Another Series (Bob and Cecil = Fraiser and Niles, hilarious). The Treehouse of Horrors are great too. I dunno, it's kinda hard to pick and choose, cause each episode always has a least one bit I love. Like the part where Burns was hysterically laughing, for about 24 hours, about "the poor crippled Irish man" from $pringfield. Or the part where Burns was trying to kick the football but instead misses and hits Smithers in Burns' Heir. Haha, and the robotic Richard Simmons delete scene, definitely one of the best. Oh and the chowder bit from The Boy Who Knew Too Much. Ahh, truely good times.

BTW, assuming people do by the seasons, does anyone listen the commentaries? There's some really great stuff in em, I especially love the ones where John Lovetts joins in on the commentary.

Although I'd love to trash Family Guy, I'll keep to this thread staying on topic and positive. I've got the first six seasons on DVD if the internets would like me to upload them as ISOs (Jesus help me).

A few favorites that come to mind (I've only seen the first 10 or so episodes...got all 6 at once) are the April Fool's Beersplosion, Homer vs. New York City, BEHIND THE LAUGHTER...

And for those who don't know, Futurama IS coming back. I'd have to say I love it more than Simpsons.

My favorite episode...I really liked the Junior Campers one. There are some others I'm sure, but my mind is drawing a blank right now.

I still watch the DVDs all the time. They still get good bellylaughs after all these years. However, season 9 is probably the last DVD set I am going to purchase, because like others have said, the quality of the writing takes a nosedive after season 9.

The Trouble with Trillions - Homer, Mr. Burns and Smithers escape to Cuba to avoid the US government.

This Little Wiggy - Bart hangs out with everyone's favorite space cadet, Ralph Wiggum, and they visit the abandoned prison.

The Joy of Sect - Great spoof of Scientology and cults in general. Top 10 episode of all time right there.

The Cartridge Family - Great episode where Homer gets a gun, much to Marge's chagrin.

I'd say Season 9 is still classic Simpsons, even though 4-5 of the episodes in the season are as bad as anything produced in the later seasons.

It's sad watching this series becoming a mockery of itself. And I read a year or so ago that Matt Groening said he's planning to flog this carcass for as long as possible....

ANYWAY. Off the top of my head, my favourite episodes were the X-Files Halloween special, the beer baron one, and the Stonecutters one.
