.wav to .mp3?

I've got EAC to rip CDs, but now I need to directly convert .wav files to .mp3. How do I do this?

Foobar 2000 converter with a LAME 3.97b2 exe.

You can also try RazorLame with LAME 3.97b2.exe

I use CDex myself.
I use it for CD ripping and wav to mp3 converting. That program is good and easy to use.

Or you can just find the LAME 3.97b codec, move it to the folder where your EAC program is stored, change the EAC settings, and convert from there.

Yeah. Moguta's guide shows how you can set up EAC to do this, so you can extract and compress all in the push of a button.

dBpowerAMP is another good and easy to use program which can convert *>*.

BlueRazorLame in combination with the latest Lame EXE-codec.

Isn't EAC only for CD ripping? I have .wav files from a voice recorder that need to be converted.

Ohhh, i just wanted to say the same :D

dBPowerAMP is awesome.. All those plugins are nice, too! One year ago, i converted all my music into .OGG with dBPowerAMP.. but soon i was like ".OGG is shit" and i ripped everything again in .MP3 :D

Just a small advisory if you use dbpoweramp: keep it updated!

I was using a somewhat older version with slightl-less-old codecs, and dbpoweramp would crash without fail when I tried to do some conversions, like flac -> ape. Drove me nuts until I decided to update with the latest version and the latest codecs, then it worked fine.

I suppose that might be totally intuitive, but, well... yeah. :(

Here's the way I do it. Click the Tools menu and scroll down to Compress WAVs. I set mine up to rip CDs to VBR MP3, so it compresses the WAVs to VBR MP3 format. You can go into the compression settings to make the output a particular quality of MP3 too I guess like 128 bitrate or whatever you want. Another program I used to use to convert WAVs to MP3s was Audioactive Production Studio, and it has all sorts of formats to convert too along with different bit rates and frequencies or whatever. If you want that I have the install and crack.

Nah, you can convert WAVS to MP3s with that program as well. Just drag and drop the WAVs into EAC and you can pick your mp3 save directory there.
