US Open Thread

The US Open is going on right now. It's not really a remarkable thing other than the fact that it is the very last time we'll ever see Andre Agassi. Agassi had a monster of a match against Baghdatis on Thursday which left him almost too injured to go on, but he took some shots (first time he's ever done that) and it is looking like he'll either play late tonight or tomorrow (hopefully tomorrow so he can heal).

Anyone else paying attention to the US Open?

I think Agassi is going to play against some German dude, he was like "uhh maybe I will win against him - hey how cool would that be, I would have been his last opponent ever". Well yeah.

Hingis is a bitch. Henin-Hardenne, however, is a rocket.

My dad's been rooting for Agassi this whole time. And yeah since this is his last time he'll ever play, we're been keeping a watch on the US Open.

Although its raining like crazy now in NY... the match might be suspended :\

They've been showing the Agassi/Baghdatis replay. :)

I don't know how anyone could not cheer for Agassi, honestly. All around good guy. I'd love to see him take it.

I've gotta cheer for Sharapova on the women's side (though it's been a long time since she won a slam).

Yeah, his next opponent is Benjamin Becker. This guy says he used to pretend to be Andre Agassi when he played tennis with his friends.

That Agassi/Baghdatis match was unbelievable. The thing that surprised me the most was how Baghdatis was such a gracious loser. He definitely gained a lot of fans with that move.

Other interesting matches to watch would definitely be David Nalbandian vs. Marat Safin and Carlos Moya vs. James Blake.

I hope Agassi makes it to the fourth round and makes quick work of Roddick.
