Predict the Next Internet Fad!
 

Okay, so as of late those SNL Digital Shorts made it into the internet mainstream. Can't go past a lot of forums without someone saying "Double true!" Latest one was that Natalie Portman Rap bit. A long time ago, it was that whole "God kills a kitten" bit. Oh yeah, and the trailer mashups, like Toy Story 2 with Requiem for a Dream.

What do you think the next internet fad will be?

I mean there's gonna be inevitable joking responses, but seriously, I'm not setting aside the possibility that some stupid answer ends up being prophetic.

Well, just here at GFF, it looks like :megaman: is the latest fad.

Acer will come up with something around Summer. Emoticons will bounce vertically or something.

Hmmm... internet fad... my MSN has Chuck Norris quotes all over it. I can't turn anywhere on the net and not see something about Chuck Norris jokes.

Chuck Norris was so November.

Perhaps random attacks on sites from other random sites, causing the internet to start its slow implosion.
Or is that a bit too apocolyptic to be a fad?

I was always under the impression that this whole internet fad business was just a fad.

The whole "internet fad" thing is cyclical. Eventually, the first internet fads from the nineties will come back and everything old will be new again. It's only a matter of time.

Now I need to go get a couple of "All your base are belong to us" gifs ready.

Indeed. But it's still going strong in some corners of the internet. One of Gaia Online's latest donation items was a parady off the Chuck Norris fad with the Chyaku Norisu Scarf. With the caption: There are only two things in the world that can cut diamonds ... other diamonds and CHYAKU NORISU!!
