Lurid Visuals: Or THIS IS HOW TO GET YOUR VIDEOS BANNED FROM PUSSY-ASS MTV

Simple enough: Remember those videos that got banned from candy-ass salad-tossing networks like MTV because they were TEARING AT THE MORAL FIBER OF OUR YOUTH?

FUCK. THAT. SHIT.

Here's your chance to keep demoralizing impressionable internet youths. So let's have 'em guys! Post video links to some of your favorite obscene, lurid or just plain disturbing music videos. :edgarrock:

YouTube or Google Video links preferred but in reality beggars can't be choosers.

Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...kmybitchup.jpg
The golden boys of English techno and their magnum opus.

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ndowlicker.jpg
This shit is just plain disturbing but hilarious and poignant nonetheless.

N.E.R.D. - Lapdance
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...k/lapdance.jpg
WHILE THE GUB'MENT IT'S SOUNDIN' LIKE STRIPPERS TO MEEEE~

Methods of Mayhem - Get Naked
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...k/getnaked.jpg
Yeah, so Methods of Mayhem isn't exactly the epitome of great bands, but the image of Lil' Kim riding a mechanical rooster topless was just too :tpg: to pass the fuck up.

U.N.K.L.E. - Rabbit In Your Headlights
http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...headlights.jpg
This one just tripped me the hell out. It's an awesome video though.

I was going to post (s)aint, byMarilyn Manson, but lameass YouTube has it flagged as inappropriate so if you want to view it, you have to login, etc.

Whatever. I guess if you really really ache to see it, you can go to YouTube and search for it, sign up, login, etc.

knkwzrd Aug 28, 2006 07:57 PM

Are these actually banned on MTV? I've seen all of them except the Aphex Twin one on MuchMusic here in Canada.

Dark Nation Aug 28, 2006 08:25 PM

Why the hell would that last one (With the guy walking in the tunnel) be banned?

I can totally see why the first one would be though. Awesome Video :D

Spyer Aug 28, 2006 08:47 PM

Um.... can someone tell me the point of the last video? I'm guessing it has something to do with Jesus? :X

Was there a song in there? I got through 3 minutes of Gangsta life and still didn't hear a song out of it.

I don't want no hoes in my musics.

Robbie Williams - Rock DJ

Kudos for the Apex Twin nod. Hes a strange guy. Even in interviews.

I've always found Björk's video for "Pagan Poetry" strangely compelling while still being uncomfortable.

The one for "Cocoon" was banned from MTV.

Nahual Aug 28, 2006 11:00 PM

Nine Inch Nails- Closer.
I think this song is awesome, and the video is interesting...

Then there is this one. I actually don't think it's that bad.
The Cardigans-Favorite Game

I have to admit, though, that I don't remember these videos. I never had mtv to see these when they came out. I saw these later when Mtv would do, "videos banned from mtv" and these ones stuck out in my mind.

And so did a couple others which I don't even remember. I saw that special a while ago.

Wow... Who knew the girl could look so hot while naked and wrapped in pearls? That is seriously one of the most... disturbing yet wonderfully compelling videos I've seen so far.

galen Aug 29, 2006 12:31 AM

It's also got porn in it.

Paco Aug 29, 2006 01:07 AM

I guess if self-mutilation is porn, then yes... It's a fetishist's dream.

Actually, judging from the video, its a bad acid trip.

Paco Aug 29, 2006 01:20 AM

Actually, it's probably a good ecstasy trip.

Deicide - Homage to Satan

I'm not sure if MTV banned this video, but I know it's been banned somewhere.

What are you talking about? "Closer" was never banned from MTV. I remember when it premiered and it was in heavy rotation for months. MTV milked that video for every ounce they could get. Even today, whenever MTV has some special about the best videos of the 90s, or some junk like that, "Closer" is usually included.

MTV loves to trot that one out. Banned? I hardly think so.

Ademis Aug 29, 2006 02:46 PM

MTV is no longer real. It belongs to the little poser preppy kids now. Fuse is as close as you're gonna get to a real music channel.Mtv hardly plays music anymore but rather put on shows about preppy people and sweet sixteens for stuck up little girls

Actually, yeah. If you had waited a little longer, the song and the mindbending true reality of the video would have kicked in.

*AkirA* Aug 29, 2006 03:12 PM

It gets weirder the more you think about it afterwards.

Paco Aug 29, 2006 03:23 PM

It may be weird, but nothing is funnier than watching 2 ghetto youths "crip dancing" around big booty.... um... she-males?

*AkirA* Aug 29, 2006 03:35 PM

Except for the part when the umbrella gets thrown to him out of nowhere. Richard D. James is a genius.

Some of his more ambient works are the only ones that have the potential to give me an overwhelming since of fear while driving at night. If I can find some examples ill be sure to post.

Maybe he's speaking of the unedited version. It's popular opinion that the various "Scene Missing" splices actually helped the video hit it's intended effect better than in the original.
