Isn't there a way to show only one post?

I'm trying to print out Moguta's guide to ripping music from your CDs (http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/be...-post4696.html) but I only want it to show that post and save it onto my hard drive to be able to share with other people and print it out. I used to remember people being able to link it so that it would just show up one post. The only other thing I know how to do is make it a printable version, but that still shows all the posts. Anyone know if this can still be done? Thanks for any help.

Why not just copy it and paste it into a word processor or something?

Here you go:

The correct way is to use showpost.php (the # of # link you see at the top right of your posts used to do that, but I've modified the functionality from single post display to jump-to-post after member requests).

Syntax:
http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/showpost.php?p={post number}

The post number for Moguta's guide is 4696, so the link would be
http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4696

With vBSEO, you can use this syntax instead:
http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/4696-post.html

Umm, because all formatting would be lost that way.

Well then he could have just quoted it and copied that. Or Blah's method.

I also cut and pasted it into Wordpad, which is packaged with Windows, and while it isn't as tidy as MSWord's version, it is still fine.

Huh, that's cool. What do you do to paste it like that? It just inserts it all as one block of text for me.

galen Aug 25, 2006 03:01 AM

I just select everything in the body of the post, and then copy it and paste it into Word.

Yeah, I tried it in Firefox and it worked. I guess Opera isn't advanced enough for that, oh well.

How about splitting the links part way. Say #11 would link to the single post. "of 11" would link to the current system? :D
