What do you put on your ice cream?
Let's say you're going to make a bowl of ice cream and put something on it: what ice cream flavor(s) do you use and what do you throw on top? Do you like to eat strange things like buttered popcorn and pickles on your ice cream, or are you more of a syrup and whipped cream type of person?
I go for a light, delicate taste and simply drizzle honey and sprinkle sliced almonds onto vanilla ice cream (Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla). I also like the same vanilla ice cream with maraschino cherries out of the jar and a little bit of cherry juice. What do you put on your ice cream? |
Chocolate syrup or caramel if it's vanilla. Otherwise, whatever the ice cream is flavored as is usually enough.
If it's chocolate syrup with vanilla ice cream, I usually mash it together into some kind of goopy mix and have that. It's actually pretty good that way. |

Once every few months, I make a stop at Dairy Queen and buy a Blizzard. A Blizzard is a cup of vanilla (or chocolate) ice cream with a sort of candy mixed in. M&Ms or Peanut Butter Cups in vanilla ice cream if fucking phenomenal.
As for other items? Uhm... Well, I always fancy Cookies'n Cream or Chocolate Mint (often green colored). But then again, I haven't had ice cream in probably three months by this point. Tastes fantastic but I just don't get around to snagging some. Maybe I'll get something at the store this week... |
I like fruit, chocolate sauce and a bit of icing sugar (just for the looks)
lol but this thread reminds me of the final episode of House second season, if anyone watches it. |
I enjoy putting chopped strawberries in my vanilla ice cream. Anything goes good with vanilla (best flavor ever). Otherwise if I eat ice cream out, I'm happy with whatever it has. It should have enough flavor and spazz to be good without toppings. I did have coconut ice cream with pineapple in it. That was good. (Maybe could've used some rum too).

I usually go for chocolate syrup or caramel if I have vanilla ice cream. I've also tried that "shell" topping. For all other flavors, I tend to enjoy them plain.
|
I always prefer to put strawberry topping on my ice cream, even if the ice cream is strawberry flavored.
As for the "shell" topping, I'm not a big fan of it, myself. I don't like having ice cream that's crunchy. It just doesn't seem right. |
A bit of corn flakes or chocolate syrup/caramel syrup.
Never liked the chocolate sprinkles too much. |
Pretty much the only thing I put on Ice Cream is Chocolate Syrup.

Those loveable little get-caught-in-the-throat candies by Wonka. PUT THEM ON YOUR VANILLA ICE CREAM TODAY. |
I usually don't put anything in my ice cream, but when I do, I tend to go for a little bit of crushed Oreos. I occasionally put in sprinkles or chocolate chips. That's about it, as I simply can't tolerate syrup added into my ice cream. Whipped cream is also a definite no-no for me.

Just a little bit of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup and chocolate ice cream is made into an awesome, chocolate-lover's dream.
|
If I put anything on ice cream, it's whipped cream. The kind in a can, and a hell of a lot of it at that. But usually I just eat ice cream plain, especially if it's something with a lot of crap in it already.
I have been known to eat pie or ice cream just to have whipped cream, though. :( |
Depends.
Hot fudge on vanilla (or some form of chocolate covering said vanilla). I've eaten ice cream with candy, but usually it's vanilla. To tell you the truth, vanilla is the only one I manipulate with stuff. Chocolate is great by itself, and many of the other flavors are quite amazing plain (and some would taste horrible with hot fudge or candy). |
