Who said Nintendo games were getting easier ?
Haven't you heard of RHYTHM TENGOKU on GBA ?
That simple game in which you simply use the A button to advance ? You need to have the right timing on pressing the A while following the in-game music. I haven't played much, but for what I did... oh gosh, it's so fucking hard. "More" details here: http://gameboy.ign.com/objects/827/827844.html |
I really want to get this game. My sense of rhythm isn't something to boast about, but I just love how quirky this game looks. Catchy tunes, too. I'm kinda staring at it longingly at Play-Asia, as I plan on buying SOMETHING there soon, and Rhythm Tengoku's near the top of the list. Just watching videos over at YouTube won me over, as well as some folks saying it's a lot of fun and has plenty of replay value.
But we'll see. :) |
I want this game so bad because i love this development team (i love Warioware to death), its seems that the game is hard, but also wit ha lot of replay value as terrakazama says
|
Yeah, it's a real laugh, esp. when you initially don't know what to do at first sometimes. I remember the first time I did the cheerleading(?) round; didn't know what the coach was saying (in Japanese) and ended doing random stuff. Really cracked me up that did, and I haven't had a good laugh with a portable since the WarioWare games.

I'm currently stuck on the Trampoline level as I have no idea what to do with it XD But the game itself is a riot. I love it to death.
|
Anyone play this on their computers?
If so, can you figure out a way to get Visualboy Advance to sync up with this game? (I think it might have to do with my soundcard/directsound) |
So this game has parallels with Warioware in the sense of development team and design. As Dr. Crygor would say: "Very nice." I'm looking forward to this title and want to import it now, since I guess it's more fun to blindly guess with random Japanese instructions thrown at you :)

I must try this game out. Though, I can't see it being too incredibly hard once I figure out what to do, it doesn't look like there are a whole mess of button combinations, just small timing windows to deal with.
|
Heh, this game is incredible. With Ouendan (blech) being localized as Elite Beat Agents, I can picture this being released in North Fauxmerica as a new Warioware game; different graphics but same gameplay.

I do use a gamepad. My inputs are directly and accurately in time with the graphics. The sound is not. It is about 0.3 seconds behind the graphics. I essentially have to ignore the music to pass levels. The game itself? Not hard. Though that might be because I've played drums for so many years. Still really fun though. |
Hey again, I wrote a review posted up at GFaqs for those who are intrigued and want to know some more:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gba...w/R104736.html I particularly liked the tap-dancing, onion facial hair, drumming and most of all the one where you had to "turn right!" lol! Great fun, probably MORE enjoyable if your knowledge of Japanese is low too! I reckon a sequel will be localised (for DS), but prolly not this one seeing as the GBA is nearing the end of its lifespan, so go ahead and pick it up if it looks appealing. And Taco, the trampoline level is done by pressing d-pad or A when the left or right kid is at the peak of their jump; took me a while to figure that out too. |
