My icons are spaced far apart
 

I'm using Windows XP. Out of nowhere, my icons got all screwy. There is an abnormal amount of space between them on my desktop; I can no longer place my Recycle Bin where it once was when I have "align to grid" set. (I usually have it in the bottom left hand corner, right above the Start Button). In Windows Explorer, when viewing a folder in Thumbnail mode, the thumbnails are spaced very far apart.

I Googled and can't get anything. I don't want to have to reinstall (or clean install Windows). Any ideas?

Try...

Under the Appearance tab in the display properties, hit 'Advanced' and try fiddling with "Icon spacing." The default should be 43 for both horizontal and vertical.

Holy crap. Never seen that in all my time with Windows. Ur teh man. It was set to 123. I don't know how it got like that.
