Login problems
 

Since i registered on the forums I've had big problems with logging in to the forums. I log in, the welcomescreen poppes up, but when it goes back to the board I am still not signed in. :( Anyone have any idea what the problem can be?

For me to log in, I need to use the "forget your password", get it in the mail, write it, change it to my regular password and then I am already signed in.

I am using Firefox 1.5.6, but I tried in Opera on my brothers machine, and it was exactly the same. It keeps logging me out if I do not use the forget password function.

That is pretty weird. I'm gonna go ahead and suggest the most obvious thing first: are your cookies turned on? Does your browser reject cookies from specific websites, ie. GFF?

PS: you've typoed your Firefox version - it ought to be 1.5.0.6.

Try a hard refresh of the page and see if that helps. It could be that it's pulling a "cached" version of the page, which was of you logged out.

Guess what. This happens to me everytime too. Here's what works for me. I log in, then the page reloads and it says that I'm not logged in. THEN, click on any subforum (like General Discussion, for example), and you'll be logged in. To return to the main forum, instead of clicking the back button, click the link to the main page.
It's WEIRD but it works.

It happens to me all the time, too. EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to log on to GFF, I have to clear all my cookies first. It's annoying as hell, but it works like a charm.

Are you sure you're going to www.gamingforce.com/forums ? This seems to happen for me when I don't put the www there.

Yeah, I see now it works perfectly OK when i put [triplew] before. wierd. Maybe something for the admins to fix?

Yeah, everything you do with Gamingforce has to be done through www.gamingforce.com, no variations, nothing different what-so-ever.

This is because of the URL formatting mod bobo installed, which has seemed to cause more problems and confusion than it has really helped, in my opinion.

I completely agree. Plus, I think the URL looks a bit 'ugly' now.

Yeah, sage the url formatting in the face. It totally broke direct post linking.

Alternately, we can all gangbang Devo for not viewing at 25 posts a page, like God intended.

That is far more effort than GFF ever deserved.

Going to www.gamingforce.com doesn't work for me. I still have to clear my cookies every single time I want to log in. It still looks as if I'm not logged in, but if I then click on the chocojournal tab, I'm logged in.
