Is there a capture frame for Media Player Classic?
When I watch DVDs on my computer using PowerDVD, there is a button to capture the frame, so that I can paste it into Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop and play around with it without having to save it to my hard drive if I don't like it after I'm done messing around.
Is there an option like this for Media Player Classic? I see on the drop down menu from the 'File' tab there is an option to save the image (as a file-hogging bitmap), but that's not really what I'm looking for (plus it doesn't work, since I tried saving it and it said 'GetCurrentImage failed, hr = 8000ffff'). There is a way to get the Save Image option to work, however, but that requires me to change the output renderer to VMR9, but whenever I do that and try to play my movies, they lag and skip a lot.
I remember reading on here a long time ago somewhere that you can turn off the hardware acceleration (or at least turn the slider all the way to low and then use the print screen button to be able to take a screenshot of what's playing on your media player, but that's too tedious, and does it make the picture quality go down? not sure. Isn't there a program that can capture what's on your screen, even the video that is playing? Maybe that's what I'll have to resort to.
Also, there is a button on the playback portion of the player at the bottom that is called 'Step' which I think advances the movie by 1 frame, good for taking screenshots or whatever. Is there a way to make the step move backward instead of forward though, or do I need a movie editing program to look at all the frames in my movie file?
