Clarification Requested (Donations)
 

As was stated in Bobo's webspace, donations for the return of GFF amounted to US$1,120. This was raised to pay off the $1,350 debt for the old $400/month GFF server.

However, since we have not been able to recover anything from the old server, was the amount of the donations used to pay off the old host? Was it used for down- and pre-payment of the current ~$300/month server?

Requesting for clarification! :)

bobo is using it for this year's trip to Cancun. Spring break is in 2 weeks, right bobo?

Wow impressive how he seems to actually care about his own boards... we pay for his vacation and he won't even reply. I believe bobo should look up the term 'resign' somewhere soon

Even though we have a cheaper server ($300/month), this is not going to stop the need for another $1200 donation drive four months from now...

I think it was Blah I remember saying that admins could easily put adsense code into the forum display. Maybe this could happen if Bobo doesn't show for long enough. Although there's maybe the problem of getting the money from the ads to Bobo's host. If GFF does go down again because of missed payments and the like, the admins are at least this time (hopefully) keeping regular backups. Also most people know about Serious Business Forums if GFF goes down.

2. What happened to the 2005 backup that was supposed to be integrated as an archive?

3. When is ChocoJournal being reinstated? "Soon" isn't exactly precise.

4. What kind of access level do admins have now? What kind of things can be done Bobo's absence (= always)?

5. AdSense!?

It's just that I don't really feel very comfortable posting here as of late and even though I'm in no position to demand answers to these questions, I'd be very thankful if there was some sort of plan involved with managing GFF this time around.

Not really. Before mid-2002 or so he was around all the time and was actually a pretty good member.

Supposedly they're getting FTP Access. Right now, probably nothing but a limited admin panel.

I say one of you admins go ahead and get Adsense for GFF. Hold the money in trust for bobo, and produce it when the inevitable drive for more donations come :biggrin:
