Laptop internet problems
My sister got a new laptop recently running 64-bit Vista. Everything was running fine when just yesterday (or today, I dunno), she is no longer able to connect to the internet. She is bugging me to fix it so here I am.
I have a router set up on my PC and while I can connect to it, it still says 'connection unsuccessful' and it's under Limited Connectivity so nothing is loading. I can't seem to find a way to fix the problem. The other laptops in the apt work but not this one, and yes, the Wireless switch thing is on. Any help? |
Does a wired connection to the router work?
|
I never thought about trying that. While I just tried it and it works. Still doesn't work wirelessly though. For some reason it refuses to connect to the net.

I trust you did the obligatory "repair connection"/reboot computer, right?
|
I did that many times and it still doesn't work.
Update: Ah, I fixed it!! It turns all I had to do was set TCP/IPv4 to 'obtain IP address automatically.' For some reason it was pointing to some unknown address. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me :3 |
